Assassin's Creed Shadows

Assassin's Creed Shadows

View Stats:
4090 + 13900K Max 4k Settings DLSS quality (Not hitting 60fps)
So somethings been kinda edging me. I run AC shadow with an RTX 4090 and i9 13900k However when I run benchmark tests with the In game benchmark feature. I get an average of 85fps with frame Gen on,
With frame Gen off DLSS at quality only. I get an averag of 52-55 fps. Whereas I've seen videos people are gettin an average of 60/70fps.
This user on YouTube has a i9 10900k with an average 101 FPS. Settings are identical

Any suggestions? If so does anyone have a similar setup to mine where the benchmarks are matching to mine?

Also, AC: Shadows does not support true fullscreen, which can introduce input lag and scaling issues. To make borderless behave more like exclusive fullscreen:

1. Right-click ACShadows.exe → Properties → Compatibility tab
2. Check: Disable fullscreen optimizations
3. Click Change high DPI settings
4. Check: Override high DPI scaling behavior and select Application

This helps reduce input delay and ensures proper scaling on high-res displays.

From the NVIDIA Control Panel/NVIDIA App, go to Program Settings tab, then select Assassin's Creed Shadows / (acshadows.exe)

- Low Latency Mode: On
- Max Frame Rate: Set to 3 FPS below your monitor’s refresh rate (e.g., 167 for 170Hz)
- Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance
- Threaded Optimization: On
- Vertical Sync: Force Off (I use G-Sync)

After that, run the in-game benchmark and see if it improves.

For reference, I am running at 1440p with a 5-year-old ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3090 and averaging ~83 FPS, peaking at 133 FPS with an unlocked frame rate.

Are you on the latest Nvidia driver that just dropped yesterday or have you held back due to the issues in the 472.x series? Wasn't sure if your last line there is all drivers updated or just referring to the MB.

I'm updated to the latest driver as of today's date
I play with a 4090 + 14700K (old bios/300W Max)
32GB DDR5 7200 / 55" OLED 120Hz with Gsync on/Vsync off
Samsung 990 Pro 4.0

4k Max settings
DLAA4 + FG around 80-90 FPS
DLSS4 qual + FG around 100-115 FPS
But it still feels pretty smooth with DLSS and DLAA + FG
No stutter issues, no noticeable input lag and no ghosting.
DLSS Qual is a little bit smoother

Nvidia 572.47
Win10 22h2 19045

Ngl this could be right. My Streamlabs was tweaking out and after reverting windows it helped.
The best thing that ever happened to Windows 10 was Microsoft stopped screwing around with it after 22H2. I've used just about every version of Windows ever made (I still have the 5 1/4" install floppy disks for Windows 1.0 but I doubt they work anymore) and I'd say Windows 10 22H2 is the most stable version of Windows ever. Other than better HDR support Windows 11 doesn't bring anything to the table over Windows 10

Can confirm

I NEVER got any problems with games or other programs since... idk a long time.
Only "yes its my fault" stuff.
(Yes and i avoid New Nvidia drivers)
The only Thing what happens is "my PC dont shut down correct" so i have to press the power Button for a few seconds.
First start: corrupted profile.
After a restart it works like a charm.
If i restart my PC After a few days i dont get this Problem.
Should check my Bios in the future....

Friends with win 11 got more problems. (AMD, Intel and Nvidia Hardware)

Thats why i switch to win10 LTSC or similiar until ~2032.

On my ageing 10900K CPU, 64GB system RAM and a 4090 I get 75FPS with TXAA and no Frame Gen at 2K resolution. Turning on Frame Gen gets me to 125 FPS and in crowded towns I never see it drop below 75 FPS.

This is with 576.02 GPU driver and Windows 11 24H2.
where's the video?
anyway, and benchmark i did at game launch:

Latest Nvidia that dropped fixed previous driver issues. Do a fresh uninstall in safe mode with DDU, restart in normal mode, install latest drivers, restart and you should "hopefully" be good.

Getting 100-120 maxed out on everything @ 3440x1440 with DLSS option available and set to Quality.

i played it using DLAA and framegen and was getting over 75fps maxed out until it happened then exactly 20fps would just vanish until i toggled screen res
Interesting I might try this
Since update 1.0.2 i get random stutter, like its shader compilation stutters .
Tried every possible fix that is around ,with latest nvidia driver it runs worse.
I even cap frames at 30 fps ,without im averaging 50 fps.
Its definitely something broken since patch 1.0.2 .
