Combat Wise
I was doing some research and deciding if I'll buy shadows.

Comparing the combat to GoT I think I got why the combat for shadows feels stiff. (Looking at Yasuke)

Transition from 1 attack/stance/combo to another feels rigid due to the fact that the foot work is fixed per animation. It doesn't transition from one to another as smooth as GoT.

Do they have plan to fix that feeling?

Update 1.

I'm now searching for the posture attacks. I think this helps with what I'm hoping to find and feel.

I'm also seeing combat videos that turns on this black white and red filter. Can I turn that off incase?

I didnt play Shadows but I played Odyssey and its pretty much the same thing, combat is just meh in this game. If I hadnt played Ghost of Tsushima I would probably try this for Japsy setting, but I think GOT is much better in every aspect. I am passing on this ;p

AC games in general arent great for combat ;p

That's sad. It's beautiful and I'm thinking about giving it a chance. Just a simple footwork fix can make this game smooth as f

Go ahead then ;p I felt the same about Odyssey, the thing about AC games is that they look nice, but when you start to play them they turn out to be pretty soulless ;p But maybe, you have to learn that yourself, just like I did ;p

As to footwork I can promise you they arent going to even look at that ;p Their games are really low effort ;p

Apart GOT what games have good melee combats?

For me target lock is bad melee combat it's lacking too much of fluidity, but it makes perfect nice animation mostly impossible as hits must hit not just when attacker and target are at exact place to allow a perfect great animation.

For me it's junk, animation are second, it's no reality anyway, even less absurd non real animation, so it's a learning to know what hits or not, not just visual matching a feeling.

Best melee combats, Elex 1, despite bad animations. But Odyssey is close and Valhalla too. But no lock is better suited for mouse than gamepad I suppose.

Your opinion, Odyssey has 50 hand crafted bounty hunters, each different, only very few are a bit clone of another, find that souless is weird, it's master content for combats.

Also Odyssey arena is certainly limited, but it's again master content. And for experts, there's also mythic bosses, myself I beat only a few, but that's great material and nothing soulless.

The games that focus on combat usually do it best ;p So God of War, Elden Ring, Armored Core 6, Jedi Survivor, Ghost of Tsushima.

AC is mostly focusing on microtrasactions so thats what they do best xD The rest of features is kinda meh XD

Huuu?

You can't interrupt an attack with a move? I doubt I wouldn't have quote such burden.

It's a problem of animation or move flexibility? Animation I would not care and hardly quote, for move, I'd be surprised to not have quote, he ok it's possible. And I don't like Shadows combats much, a ton more those of Odyssey and also Valhalla with difficulty up.

So irrelevant you show so clearly you are just a hater that will find any and only problem in the game, why bother on your opinion? Useless.

Then you have no say in the matter.

You showed up to take a dump on this game, spam this thread with useless information, and advertise for five other games that nobody here cares about.

Best to keep passing through.

Your first mistake was comparing combat to GoT. This isn't GoT. This is ASSASSIN'S CREED. It's literally in 2/3s of the game's name..... I would recommend comparing to Origins or Odyssey seeing as those aren't just Assassin's Creed games, but Assassin's Creed games made by the same studio.

For me OP mistake is to be abstruse about his problem with combats, or perhaps someone can explain?

Transition from 1 attack/stance/combo to another feels rigid due to the fact that the foot work is fixed per animation.
Ok but what? He means move are stuck? Foot animation are bad?

Asuke Combat is pretty meh.

Naoh with her slick acrobatic moves is where it's at.

It always shocks me how every meh game, has this pathetic bunch of fanboys ready to swoop in and attack any person that said something about their game they dont like to hear...

I came in and shared my opinion, this is what the forum is for. All you clowns do is take stuff personally and attack others...

OP came in and asked a question, if you dont like it, dont answer it. But dont tell me or him to go away as if you owned the place.

You are all pathetic xD
