The next patch is sorely needed.
Ubisoft is taking its sweet time with a meaningfully-sized patch after the small Hotfix for this game to fix the following bugs:

* Weapon part customisation often results in swords and Tantos with missing Saya when you have the weapon sheathed on your back, just showing the bare blade.

* Stealth assassinating an opponent occasionally results in the opponent not being killed, leaving the opponent just standing there or, if assassinated while lying down, suddenly standing up without weapon and standing there doing nothing.

* Pressing a key to talk to an NPC often doesn't do anything and you have to save and reload to fix this.

* Exclamation mark in Inventory always showing despite going through Yasuke and Naoe items to check for new gear and seeing nothing.

* Some League members not showing up at Hideout. Yaya and Yagoro tend to be missing.

Quality of life irritations
* Inability to disable Tutorial messages despite the HUD customisation features.

* Cut scenes locked to 30 fps. Not cool.

* Merchants with duplicate items to buy for Hideout in their inventory and also showing items for sale you already have.

* In a castle as Naoe and you come across something only Yasuke can move but you are prevented from switching character because of gameplay 'context'. NOT cool and only introduces frustration.

* Some quest require night time visits but there's no way to wait for day or night time. Dumb design.

* Can only sell things one at a time instead of being able to mark things for sale. Even the selling process involves a slow, tedious and unnecessary animation and notification animation.

Really wonder what the trigger really is.

The delay might be a clue. It might have something to do with whether or not the 2nd enemy sees you kill the first. It never mattered in the other recent games that had this "kill 2nd enemy" mechanic like Origins or Valhalla. The 2nd guy could be altered and already starting to attack you when you threw the weapon to kill him. The only thing that could go wrong is if he moved out of line-of-sign in that time and then the 2nd assassinate would fail.

Yeah saw that. Here's hoping. Some nice QoL changes at any rate. We get the self-driving horse from previous games. And multiple sell/dismantle.

They need to allow switching characters inside castles. It's annoying to get in a castle as Naoe for a mission item, only to find out it's hidden behind a heavy thing only Yasuke can move, so I have to backtrack all the way out to switch to him and then storm the castle and cut my way to the item.

Had two missions today where that issue reared it's head. I've noticed that if a castle has a viewpoint perch and you head up there, you can fast travel. I wonder if a character switch will work up there? It would save you from having to exit castle grounds.

Yes. You can switch on all veiwpoints (or rather FT too as any character)

Yeah you're right, I wasn't aware that viewpoints enabled character switching even in hostile territory, but I'd still rather just switch to Yasuke on the go and move the object, it's not like this breaks the game or anything.

Just saw the Horse Auto-Follow and Speed Improvements. YES!!!

Like, every one of those Game Improvements on their list in the Patch Highlights is great. Really, looks like a very good patch.
No kidding, almost 20 days I can't progress because of the Yaya and Oda bug. Where the heck is the patch?

* Fixed various bugs related to Transmog variant visuals. is a lie 😕

Patch installed and it did nothing to fix the weapon customisation glitches when changing weapon parts. My Tanto shows as unsheathed, as is my Katana when certain part combinations are chosen.

They've also introduced a different bug. As I use Tanto all the time and got annoyed at accidentally hitting the key to switch between weapons, I unequipped Katana. Previously that would make the Katana AND the Saya disappear from my back, both in the Inventory view and in the game world, but now it leaves the Saya and the sword showing in Inventory but just leaves the Saya there with no sword in it in the game world.

Also not fixed is the annoying Inventory exclamation mark indicating new items have been picked up. I've gone through both Naoe and Yasuke weapon slots, armour slots, tools slots and bag slots to check for new items and there's nothing there.

Also, still no sign of Yaya at hideout and still not way to disable tutorial message popups.

Cut-scenes still locked to 30 fps. Worst, decision, ever! Probably the result of a myopic focus on console platform hardware limitations that are not revisited for the more capable PC platform hardware capabilities and scalability.

Do these people even play test their games before release and also after releasing patches? Modern game's publishers and devs really do seem to have a minimum-viable-effort policy when it comes to product testing and polish.

I'm wondering if maybe the pre-patch game version save games might be 'persisting' these issues? I'll verify game files and start a new game and play up to unlocking Yasuke and the hideout Forge for weapon transmogs and report back.

My pain is your gain 😉
