Neither Yasuke nor Naoe in my game even need combos anymore ;-) Everyone is just dead in record time, I would never be able to even finish a combo before everyone is dead. I used the auto QTE after a while as well because the entire exercise felt pretty pointless and those combos much too convoluted and entirely unneeded because engravings, skills and raw damage output afer you reach a certain level make short work of everyone anyway.
If it is a shift-leftclick I and many others have had problems with it.
I rebound mine eventually.
The shift-click need have the click then the shift.
Which is really odd.
I believe many go through a lot of this game without experiencing the advanced and much more tactical combat system implemented with a lot of variations.
I havent really needed combos from the beginning. I have done the occasional combo with Naoe but its pretty rare. To add, they are overcomplicated and way too easy for an enemy to break that they just arent worth it. And dont even get me started on Yauske. He can basically win almost any fight by button mashing the weak attack. And that is playing on expert combat difficulty.
They are easily the most useless QTEs of all of gaming history. Imagine trying to memorize these great "combos" while looking straight into Yasuke´s wonderful brown eyes when he performs these breathtaking martial arts moves that are nothing but just normal attack animations. Like where or what even is the combo here?
The cherry on top is when you did all of them normaly just to find out there is a menue option you can activate to get all of the wisdom points for doing absolutely nothing!
Have you changed the default buttons assignment??
I had the same exact issue with the kata mini game and solved it by restoring the default settings for controller buttons. It seems that the modified buttons assignment carry to the actual gameplay but not to the kata mini game. A stupid overlook from the developers that needs to be patched asap
Yeah, I was all worried I needed to be learning something here but no... these aren't even combos. It's just a random string of combat inputs. There's no point to this or to Naoe's meditation game. I set QTE to automatic and don't regret just watching these complete themselves.
You don't even need to do most of the Kata to reach Rank 8. There's more knowledge available than required.
