Question about what happens to your engravings and perks when you dismantle.

When you dismantle do the engravings and perks return to be used again, are they always available to you for use on other items? Or must you reacquire engravings or perks to be used on other items? In other words are engravings and perks permanently available once acquired?

You keep all engravings that you find and can reapply them on another weapon.

It only recognizes the engravings for gear that's currently equipped.

yes, you can have the same on katana and tanto at the same time. got 20% armour piercing on both of mine, for example, but like 5ean5ean says it only counts the one you're currently waving around
you can't have the same engraving on a hood/helmet and body armour, because they use different engraving sets
