Need a blood and body lifetime toggle
In my opinion this assassins creed has probably the best blood splatters/decals in the entire series. But it drives me INSANE when all of the blood from an execution I just performed disappears within 5 or so seconds. And then when you just run a few feet away the bodies disappear soon after. Why? What is the purpose of this? It is majorly immersion breaking for me. If they are afraid it is going to be a performance hit, why not make it a toggle in the settings? Allow you to select default blood and body lifetimes, or increase it from minutes all the way to infinite time frame until you leave the area. Would that be so difficult to patch in? Someone obviously worked hard on the blood effects. Allow their work to be appreciated.

Because as in every game, this will tank your GPU pretty fast. So they dissapear underneath and get revived - like in most cases - to spawn again, giving the illusion of infinite enemies or they keep dissapearing until you leave an instance. There could be other tricks
Actually, this was part of a day 1 patch.

This was done alongside the patch that made shrines indestructible. The Japanese government itself criticised Ubisoft on this topic and they tweaked the blood as well so it wouldn't linger in those areas by lowering the lifetime of blood and bodies.

Yes, I play on 4K ultra with just about everything maxed out and locked at 60 FPS. I use DLSS set to "Quality". Despite that, simply adjusting the graphics settings would have no effect on the longevity/duration of blood splatters and body lifetime. If you have not noticed this issue I do not think you have not looked too hard at it. Any blood splatters on the ground will disappear right before your eyes within seconds of killing someone. The blood splatters that go onto walls, ceilings, etc. seem to stay much longer in some cases. The bodies definitely disappear after just a quick walk-around. If you are not having this issue then you are a lucky guy lol.

Well that is just stupid. They should have just limited that to the japanese copies of the game, why punish the rest of us? I thought I recalled seeing a very long lifetime of blood decals in some old videos before the game released. That explains why it is different now. I wish I could just remove that patch, it is very immersive breaking and ruins the good work that they did.

This is just flat out not true. Heck in just Skyrim for example I toggle blood splatters to stay for like 20 minutes or something crazy like that. There is no performance hit. There are TONS of games that have decent gore that don't have 90 percent of the blood disappear within literally seconds. It is absolutely doable with very little to no impact. On the off chance there IS some crazy impact like you are claiming, that is why I am asking for a couple different options in the settings. Something like default, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes etc. People can adjust based off of their PC capability. Plus according to what one of the comments below me said, they already had a much longer lifetime for the blood in this game but then the japanese government got upset and they patched it out. If this is true, then they already had done it and just disabled it.
a toggleable setting would be best
unless the same unsung heroes that light all those lanterns on the country backroads also clean up all the bodies and blood while you're not looking

They stay dead until the season changes.

I was specifically talking about the bodies

And also Skyrim and their Engine is specifically tailored around physics of the bodies - ragdolling - Just read bodies can stay for months in one place if you set them up from the despawn area, didn't know that LUL

And yes as more objects in screen have to be accounted for is goes for performance. AKA Dragons Dogma 2 NPC's dilemma

Ahhh I understand sorry about that I was more referring to the blood, I misread your comment. Body lifetime isnt too horrible in this game but I definitely have noticed them despawn before I feel is appropriate lol.

Every AC title needed something like this, but Ubisoft is just garbage.

I agree 100 percent. It has happened in most of their games, it just sucks that they apparently finally fixed it and then Japan had to go and complain and ruin it for the rest of us.
