Anyone found a workaround on how to get dismemberment?
Currently live in Japan and yeah, dismemberment got censored. Well.. I will still play the game, but finishers felt a bit bland to be honest.

That sucks big time. In a game with so much blood and gore.

I can't even imagine playing Shadows without it. Not after experiencing it for so many hours. It's one of the highlights of combat.

No idea, sorry. Other than not living in Japan.

maybe by using a VPN and repurchasing the game by setting steam to the location you set your VPN to?

you don't miss a lot IMO, it's just the same animation over and over and over again without much variation. so i wouldn't bother about it too much.

Wait until you find out what else they removed, like the destructible environments :steamhappy:

You can make a petition for laws to be changed. There is a reason why its censored in Japan and you should abide by the rules your country have.
If you want to change them. bringing up petitions or becoming more poltical active is your solution.

So let me get this straight.
You want this person to get into politics?
To go around as a foreigner living in Japan trying to get enough people involved with a petition to change the censorship
To spend weeks, months, or even years gaining the traction it needs?
To then deliver it to the high court and have it be voted on?
To hope it passes and then get it sponsored by a government official to take it to the prime minister?
To have it get voted on and hope it passes?
To have it then have an implementation date and then requiring Ubisoft to edit the Japanese version of the game to allow dismemberment?
Just so they can play a game from years ago at this point in time?

No
Work smarter not harder
There's probably a workaround

My point is that you either abide by the laws of where you live or you try to change them, if you think they are no good.
That is why we have democracies around the world after all.

There is no alternative for the OP currently outside accepting, that they can´t play with the feature in question and that is also my advice, as its a minor detail. I understand their frustration ofc. But laws are laws and we should abide by them.

Have a good day op.
Hopefully this solved your issue and you can go back to enjoying the game.
