Any point to resources?
I got my base fully upgraded pretty early. Long before doing much of anything outside the first prefecture or seeing my first tall stack of resources to smuggle. I wasn't even trying to rush it, it was just the result of the resources that came in from playing.

So, once all the main rooms are upgraded, are those resources good for anything at all? Should I continue bothering to collect them, or just start ignoring them?

Upgrading both Yasuke and Naoe eats a lot of resources.

However, if your a completionist, and you loot everything that isn't nailed down, you shouldn't have any problems. I loot everything, but Yasuke's upgrades have still broken my bank a couple of times. And I don't even use him.

I only keep him upgraded in case of emergencies. For when they force us to do a quest with him.

Once all of your buildings at the hideout are maxed, you only need the loot for gear upgrades. Particularly Yasuke's.

what were you DOING? I'm well past leaving the first prefecture and I can't afford to upgrade anything yet.
Go buy them in the store. You know you want to. Stupid gamers these days.

I really feel like the hideout needed way more rooms and stuff to upgrade to warrant the whole smuggling system and resource economy.

Hell, by the time you get max scouts and all the upgrades that make sure you smuggle more resources, you no longer need them...

Still enjoying the game, but it seems like a waste to have entire systems built around a resource economy that is only useful for a small fraction of a playthrough.

Ironically, you aren't getting all the scouts until practically 40+ anyhow. THere's more than 5. But ,yes, by then it's basically finished if you've been smugglnig castle stashes regularly.
