Thanks! I appreciate the links.👍
That’s clearly not true.
Plenty of other devs where they can work. Ubisoft is a sinking ship.
You mean "get woke elswhere".
I hope too. Their political motives and moves have nothing lost in the gameing industry.
If you don't know ..yes those Ubisoft employess are super woke and that is all they are skilled in.
You can be woke but if there is nothing there to create a good game you should search for something else. They are truely missplaced in that industry.
Yes the managment is at fault for hiering that team and give that direction. But that doesn't makes those employee more fitting and innocent.
There have been a lot of industry layoffs due to over staffing during COVID.
Most of them are going to be making coffees again.
This happens in every industry with every career and I don't understand why there has to be special crying for video game developers and similar positions in entertainment industry.
They are there to do their job if they do it well they get payed and go home like everyone else in the world.
The basic fact that they are transferring IPs to a "new" company does not bode well for the existing Ubisoft structures especially in France. As far as I know it is exceedingly difficult to fire people in France without very specific reasons. Based on my understanding it's similar in Germany where a company can't just fire someone unless the employee has broken some serious rules. So what they are doing is creating a new "sub-company" that is associated with the original company but not exactly the same.
They can then transfer or "sell" assets to the new company while they keep the employees they may want to cut in the old structure. At some point people will either be offered to move over to the new company (if they are needed/wanted) or they are offered some pay-off to leave on their own. If they refuse to leave then they will just lost their job anyway when the company gets closed down. The new structure will then continue without the "fat"
That's at least how this whole situation appears to me. They make it sound like it's a new "investment" while in reality they will try to cut as many positions as they can to make the development process more "agile" as they'd call it.
I know a lot of fans of this game do not want to hear it but fact of the matter is that Ubisoft dev teams have become way to bloated and the games they make in terms of quality are not justifying that amount of monetary investment.
I never said that. What I am saying it that is the fault of the over 50 white guys that are CEOs of these corporations. Are you really stupid enough to believe the developers set the hiring agenda and NOT the actual CEO who in Ubisoft's case is a 64 year old white. Who runs EA? A 50 year old white guy named Andrew Wilson. Activision Blizzard used to be run by a 63 year old white guy named Bobby Kotick but is currently run by 57 year old white guy named Phil Spencer.
Are you starting to see the pattern here junior?
It seems very cold and unfair. I recently learned that around 50% of employees that worked on AssCred are new. Their jobs seem protected while older, loyal employees livelihood appear in doubt.
Regarding the bloat and grind in Ubisoft games… I don’t know why Ubisoft keep making such large games when the data clearly shows how few gamers actually complete all of that “content”
Surely it would be better to focus on smaller games, quality over quantity?
