I don't think 25% is a small amount. If the Guillemots want to remain owners, they can only sell another 24% to maintain their 51% ownership.
Even more so considering that the 25% of the shares Tencent is buying are worth almost two-thirds of what Ubisoft is worth now.
Puts tencent in a great position to gobble the rest of the shares up after ubisoft drops the ball a few more times lol 🤣
The levels of copium people be sucking down to convince themselves this is a positive for anyone who actually likes these shallow games. Im sure the board of directors and investors for your back 🙂
Here's what actually happening.

Also, deals of this magnitude aren't made in a week. This deal was likely in the works for many months.
Asmongold is lying to his fan base for views and clicks, but they're not knowledgeable enough about how the world works to know any better.
+1 least they are practicing what they preach with that one .... haha thats GOLD
He's not right, he's baiting you for views and clicks and you're falling for it.
Educate yourself.

Not even close.
However:
If Tencent had 40%, institutions owned 11% (hypothetical) and Guillemot Family reduces their holdings to 49%... Bingo, bango.. Tencent gets to direct Ubisoft and Subsidiary however they want assuming institutions go along with Tencent. So, in this scenario hypothetical... Tencent is 5% away (that is it).
So if Ubisoft goes to hell, the IPs are safe in the subsidiary, and the Guillemots can ditch Ubisoft and its debt and continue with their new developer.
Is it something like that? If not, explain it yourself.
The subsidiary is worth about $4 billion and Tencent has a $1.25 billion stake and the Guillemot family owns the other $2.75 billion. Now that they have protected their 3 best consistently money making IPs they will likely start selling off everything else and eventually liquidate the remaining stock and take the subsidiary private with the Guillemot family owning the majority stake and Tencent the minority stake.
People put way too much stock in what YouTubers say. They're all in it for the views and clicks, to the point where they'll even flat out lie to their viewers to keep them engaged. The problem is, most of their viewers believe what they say without question, like they're some sort of authority.
That would be a disaster for the devs. How many would lose their jobs, any idea?
