That's not how it works. Now before you say ''BUT UBISOFT SAID SO'', I can guarantee you that it is certainly not how it will stay.
New investment means new rules and new criteria. I doubt Tencent would invest unless they got something out of it and I can tell you that based on Ubisoft's recent projects, that's not it to leave them full independence.
I've been following gaming news, quite a number well-known anti-wokers don't even consider KCD2 to be woke. MHW giving more character creation freedom doesn't make it woke, it doesn't even force players to choose pronouns. And I've heard nothing woke about Split Fiction, it's probably a nothing burger to begin with.
If you're so sure about AC: Shadows selling so well, what are the sale numbers?
My god he is so wrong he was banned for it
Ignoring an inconsequential 1.2b injection of capital by tencent.
The game flopped, estimated sales are maxing our at 2m, and that's coming to 100m profit, about a third of estimated development cost, not even talking about their insane marketing budget.
It failed. It will never see a ROI.
As for the cash injection, these kind of deals get made weeks/months in advance….
This is no longer copium addiction is denium, better call some help for this one.
No more than believing that a man who cuts off his penis becomes a woman.
Marxist nutcase.
Perhaps you need to read the rest of the topic
Odessey came out in 2018(?) when steam had 18 mil active player base
Shadows today , steam has 40 mil active player base.
So saying it’s biggest release day success in franchise history is a bit misleading but then that’s Ubisoft playbook with their bots on here post it’s a success , just like 2 mil ‘players” is not sales.
Tencent bought a company on sale basically , because its stock price is dropping , buy cheap take control then make changes, standard business practice
Secondly, the biggest release day was valhalla as far as i am aware.
China wants the IP cause it still makes money, like Shadows did.
