Objectives on the map
It's annoying how barely any objective shows on the map. And I have to do screen juggling to find / place them one by one.

I know, I know, it makes sense. The objective location is not entirely know immediately. It's good. But somehow the UI is a bit contrived. Go to objective screen, mouse around and hover every single diamond node individually to see if there local location clue, select one, go back to map, read the clue and try to guess where it is, send scout.
It's very cumbersome....

At the very least there should be an easy way to find all (potentially) local quest / or quest in he current zone....

There is an easier way.
Go into the general location of the target quest and activate your investigation mode. Quest targets show blue.
You can even find bosses you didn't even know about that way.

I mean I am back in Setsu and I wonder what local quest (i.e. Setsu quests) I can do.
Yeah I do the thing you said.. but I am wondering about quest all over Setsu....

The way the current objective board work, it incentivise fast travelling all other the map every mission. I want to walk around and do local mission (i.e. in the 10 km around me). Imagine if it was real world! I don't want to got from one end of japan to the other every single day!

The investigation mode only carry up to 100 or 200 metres or something. Or maybe local town?

Although. good idea / reminder in general though :)

For finding local missions, I recommend helping roadside people that pop up every now and then when you're walking about.
There are two types: unmarked ones that are being harassed by guards/bandits.
Marked ones that are talking about something that ails them.

Helping either takes about five seconds and then they will offer you information on the region, which usually means pointing you to a quest you don't yet have.

Yea, helping roadside people in need of help are nice, they mark local quest, loving it!
But there is not enough people in need of help!!

Also, to circle back, too much fast travel seems to bring season change quite often. And the 15 seconds cut scene every time annoys me. I am like "oh no, not that again!"
I know, I am a drama queen. But it does give me apprehension...

There is a chance that you also just did everything you currently can in that region. Some things won't show up until you progress the main (or certain side) stories.

Level 29... so I did quite a bit of travelling by now!

Yea there are quest markers, but they are all over the map :/
And from the objective boards, I know I got more quest all over the place as well that are unmarked on the map!
I wish there was a quick way to find all Setsu quest I know off, not on the map!
(Anyway it looks I only had only 1 known Setsu quest, send some scouts, found it)

Anyway I did learn some very cool map & objective feature yesterday in a stream.
When you send scout to discover an objective. One can send multiple scouts at once, it widen the search circle!
When one press F, the little popup has Z/C shortcuts to send more scouts!

Walking there right now!
(I don't like fast travel, I think it's the loading screen and risk of season change cut scene. walking might be slower overall, but it's beautiful and active, plus one can stumble on discoveries)
