Monster Hunter Wilds for GOTY, I won't even touch this stinking pile of garbage that is an insult to Japan. I stand with Japan, in how insulting this game is. I don't care about woke here, but they should have never trusted that whack job Locksley's garbage fiction history that he peddles as truth outside of japan to people ignorant of truth. When he knowingly recognised it as 'speculative fiction' in Japan. So please GOTY, nah MH Wilds deserves that more than this junk.

I find it extremely cringe when people hate on a game they don’t intend on buying.
I get constructive criticism. But outright hating and insulting a game and company because it’s not doing what you want is ultra cringy Karen behavior an shows how privileged people today are when they get so hung up over a video game.

Haven't played Shadows yet, so not saying it's good or bad, but to say it's the best since AC2 seems unlikely from the reviews I've watched.

What does it do better than Valhalla, Origins etc?

To call it a good game isn't delusion. It's a hell of a lot of fun to play. Is making a diminutive woman and 9 foot tall black guy the main characters in a Japanese samurai game completely ridiculous? Absolutely. It's asinine. It's asinine that the first companion you get is a morbidly obese woman who is taller and stronger than all the men. I could go on multiple times. The writing wreaks of some blue haired game designers who want everyone to know how much of an ally they are. It's annoying.

The game though? Super fun to play, even despite the ridiculous character choices. Also, unlike Veilguard, the writing is actually really good, despite the ridiculous choices made.

It's a game that belongs in the trash, won't win GOTY, and relies heavily on facfiction written by a disgraced fraud of a historian who is now in hiding. It uses chinese architecture to represent feudal Japan, My opinion that has been stated is set in stone, watch MH Wilds or some other game beat it. Then again I give awards shows no semblance of respect as their all rigged, winners are bought and paid for by studios. So yes is is a delusion this game is fun and I have seen people play it and the story seems weak, as well as I think the entire AC franchise is trash. Give me a good JRPG.
