Recruiting other assassins?

I heard this game had the feature of brotherhood where you could recruit assassins/helpers. Also, I saw somewhere that it was getting co-op? I had bought the game but refunded because it was too choppy like on my 3060ti and kept loading repeatedly despite being on an SSD.

May look at picking up again if it does come with co-op

There were rumors that a coop mode might be integrated some time post-launch back in October, and that's about it.

And yes, you do recruit a number of other people. Some are just very minor characters that are helping with intel, but the proper allies give you some extra abilities and can be called to help out in combat etc.
Allies are also missable, depending on your choices.
