Stop judging Shadows numbers
Player count data has been misled because people keep comparing to other games and not the Assassins Creed launches themselves, check ALL of them, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, Mirage, if you want to see player count the steam player base for those games are small.

Odyssey peaked at 62k on Steam and ended up selling 10 million copies. So Shadows is on track to be in the top 50% of all-time AC sellers.

It’s surely a nice thing to see for them at least, Ubisoft which I haven’t been a big company on, only played AC 1 2 and 3, came back to the genre after Odyssey, never played Mirage though.

people keep assuming players means copies sold also. so they continue to think the company is in bliss doing great
I agree on that too, it’s just funny that people think Steam data is gonna be the seller point on why Ubisoft will fail, personally, I think Shadows will give them leeway.
baldurs gate which released over 1.5-+ years ago has 10k more playerbase now. cope more.

Never!!!! I’m an unbiased factor but the more I see the unneeded hate on Shadows the more I want to defend, Ubisoft as a company with some odd business practices, I can understand to cope there.

This game had 1 mil players day 1.
How many copies sold did valhalla have? 1.7 mil sold copies of the game.
They did not even reveal shadows sold numbers just like they did not reveal Star Wars numbers day 1.
Just said " Player" which means even ubisoft + is counted:be_shocked:

Shadows is already the fastest selling Assassin's Creed game to date. Will it keep its momentum? We shall see, but at least for now, it has sold faster than any previous AC game to date.

Makes sense, I’m still wondering the playerbase for Ubi sub, never got one. But it’s still astonishing to see this grow up there.

The difference is that those games didn't launch on steam, they came here later. Shadows launched on steam and got the numbers you see. Them celebrating 2M players means little compared to units sold. The same thing happened with Veilguard celebrating numbers and at the end they took it all back. Time will tell if this game is successful or not. To me it isn't.

Probably most players. Why pay 70 dollars for a license to a game when you can pay less than 20 to try it out? Works on Xbox and PC at least.

Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing it if it does or doesn’t happen, either way the forums/cultures are gonna explode
