Can Ubisoft survive the unmitigated disaster that is AC SHADOWS?

There is no way Ubisoft can survive a complete and utter failure of this magnitude. The game barely reached 2 million players, most of which are playing on a Ubisoft's subscription service. This is for a game that cost over 300 million dollars to make, not including marketing. Ubisoft was in a bad way before the release of this steaming pile of AAA trash, but this is a failure on a whole other level. RIP Ubisoft, it was NOT fun while it lasted.

It's their only IP that can possibly break even.

Even people vehemently against the game's success haven't denied the reality of actual retail sales data.

no, sybau. this game is literally a flop. the ubisoft stock market is still going down. if this game was good, they would show number of unit sale instead of players that got their game for free on Ubisolf+.

Legitimate question. If you won't believe the company, and you won't believe journalists, why believe your own assumptions? They at least have access to data. They could be lying, but if you assume they're lying... Then can you really believe your own assumptions either?

And bear in mind, you're dismissing a publication that also says...

Ubisoft has been going through a particularly rough patch after a string of commercial failures, and there have been rumours it may even spin its most popular intellectual property off into a new company with investment from Tencent.

There was also speculation that Microsoft, among others, has been circling the publisher in the hopes of gobbling up some of its most popular brands.

... simply because the title isn't something you want to be true. Why would they put out propaganda claiming the company is doing fine, using numbers your own side is attesting to (saying they're laughable numbers), and then turn around and admit that the company is in dire straits?

Stock has nothing to do with sales numbers. Stock is about how many company shares people are buying, not about how well products are selling.
