IDK whats your problem
not all ppls on reddit are toxic
look whats happening with steam in a few games.
edit:
i can say the same with steam.
Open a Thread and say "AC shadows is a very good game" and see what happens
And there is a black samurai as a playable character. Also there was one guy who defiled a temple in the game before release and it got media attention to the point where a member of the Japanese government expressed his concerns over _a video game_.
In my opinion this is the best AC game in years. It has some problems (ie. English voice acting is bad, Japanese recommended). Combat is similar but not as good as Ghost of Tshushima. They've brought back the useful version of Eagle Vision from several games ago (I think it was the one that took place in London).
"It's compared to odyssey because of it's combat styles, flashy abilities, but lack-luster light/heavy attacks without any combos."
There are light and heavy attacks in the game sure. And there are some pretty good combos as well. You just have to unlock them in the ability tree first.

There's a couple others I could mention, but those are the popular less-biased reviewers.
