Anyone else having trouble camera and lock on in combat?

I'm finding combat a bit hard due to the camera, Lets say I have 3-4 enemies on me, and all are surrounding me and doing attacks, the camera in this game just seems really hard to use and I dont know why, I don;t recall this being as bad in previous ac games or got. It's like the combat is designed to be non lock on but doesn't work as well when not locked on?

Yes, its very annoying. Wish there was a free camera option and we could control the depth of the camera distance from the character.

i need to manually lock and unlock from targets from time to time , one time simply because i need to get away to run and other times it seems to stay lock on someone but my character move in a way as if it wasn't, It makes it very hard to fight , unlock and lock again fixes it but annoying for sure.

Outdoor camera is generally fine. But indoor camera - particularly in tight space - can have deadly position, ie. where you have no idea what's happening!
