Is this game worth picking up? I keep hearing so many mixed reviews about it. I loved Odyssey and Valhalla.

If you loved Odyssey and Valhalla you will probably love this...its basically the same except better stealth and graphics hideout building instead of river raids or naval combat...honestly you can't top odyssey ...it's the best of the rpg ac games with the ship mechanics....

ignore the trolls. This game is actually good. Great visuals (if ur hardware can run it at high or close to max) and combat. Story is decent so far (i crossed the point where u get to switch between yasuke and naoe). They gay / trans are there but atleast u can chose to ignore those romances if u want to. Yasuke's VA is better than naoe's VA in this game

With immense skepticism, I decided to give the game a chance, and honestly I don’t regret it I'm having fun and that's all that matters.

I'd wait a bit and see. Veilguard went on sale pretty quick after launch. If you wait there's a chance you could see 20 or 30 bucks off this title.

Unless money isn't an option, then watch some reviews and decide for yourself.

I would say I am getting $70 worth out of this. I am kinda torn between playing this and Xenoblade Chronicles X. I haven't really started playing that yet, but I have it (I did play the WiiU original). If you don't have something really good to play instead or are really into AC, Shadows has been a lot of fun for the ~15 hours I have put into it, with more on the horizon.

Wait for sale. I'm 20hrs in and while I enjoy it, there's a lot of downgraded mechanics that I wish weren't this way.

I personally wouldn't compare it to the same. This is more like Mirage then AcOrigins or Valhalla. Everything I loved about Valhalla has been stripped here and made closer to represent Mirage.

I won't deny I'm having fun, but removing a large amount of features and only complementing with base building that adds no value to the story or game isn't a really good trade off.

blah, i bought it, i have fun with it, there some cringe dialogue and yeah a japanese guy would have been better than yasuke, but its an assassin creed and for what i see , it will be a long one to do a 100% of it

is it the best modern AC ? nope, valhallah and odyssey are way better, but shadow is okay, there a lot of thing to do in game and its what you ask from a AC game

here my real complaint of the game so far:
-no quicksave option
-inventory is diminish (you only have head, chest, 2 weapon , a talisman, in odyssey you had 2x more item equipment)
-you dont have any stats interface, hard to tell where you are at
-no more eagle to really see a global view of the place you are in, you need to tag mob manually from the ground...

Wait for sale, game is by UbiSoft default unfinished and badly tested. So full of bugs, also the 'fillers' are TERRIBLE and stressful.
