Too Expensive
when is the first sale? I am willing to give the game a chance, but since I believe it will be dropping in price very soon, I just want to know if there is any info on when that would be.

I don't want to be sitting here in 1 month, seeing it selling for $40 after paying 80 bucks for it, and I don't want to buy the game if it isn't going to meet it's goals and continue receiving bug fixes and support.

In short,
Is this game going to be abandoned?
Is this game going to go on sale in the short term.

Does anyone have any actual information for these questions, or even just historically, what does ubisoft do with other games that are on this trajectory?

Thanks for your time fellow assassins.

Why not use a month of Ubisoft subscription thing ?
I did that with most of their past big releases, buying later the "definitive edition" on Steam at big discount to discover later content.
AC Shadows, I knew I would like so I bought right away (since it's available on Steam), but I did so with Avatar, AC Mirage and Outlaws.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I'm a pretty patient person and a frugal guy. I can afford it now, I just want to wait until it's all fixed up, or until it goes on sale.

Thank you. I don't mind waiting for the sale as long as they don't stop completing the game.

That is a good recommendation, I just want a more polished product. I know they must still be working on it. Maybe I will do what you said once I see some patch notes in the coming months.
you can get the ubisoft+ and play it for 30 days and then be done with it, or cdkeys has it for $55 I think. You would have to use the ubisoft launcher, but who cares? You have to use it anyway if you buy it on steam.

Thanks, that's a good suggestion, and I appreciate the info about the ubisoft launcher as well.

I mostly made this comment bc I love your name. 3 Ninjas is awesome.

If you got 100 coins on Ubisoft Connect you can get a 20% discount
or just use their subscribtion service to play it for €17,99/month.

You mean the rising player count? I don't think there will be a sale on Steam soon. Maybe in the summer.

i got Valhalla, Odyssey (& origins) complete editions dirt cheap thankfully, since it feels like bloatware
Surprised you even allow them to tarnish your library of completely DEI free games.

Thats the best way (in my opinion)
I was not sure if shadows is gonna be a good game

So i tested it with Ubisoft+ and i like it.
Now i wait for steam sale and buy it on steam. (Yeah its dumb but i like achievements and all games on steam)

It runs pretty good on my System even with DLAA in 4k Max.
Way smoother then wilds
Shadows 4k max DLAA: ~80 FPS with FG
~ 100 FPS with DLSS4 qual.

Wilds: ~120 FPS with DLAA
~130-150 FPS with DLSS 4 Qual.
And shadows runs so much smoother.
I was surprised

And it looks beautiful

As with any game, especially lately, it's always the smart move to wait (I'm rarely smart), and later on, you can get the full game discounted for the price of the next new DLC...

Thanks for your input and suggestion that it may be on a small discount by summer, sincerely I appreciate it, but I think you may have missed the intent of my concern.

The trajectory I refer to is that the game seems to be highly controversial, and not quite finished.

I was really referring to like, (just for example) how quickly did star wars outlaws go on sale and did they get it finished, or is it still in an incomplete state? Also, does Skull and Bones still receive support as intended despite not meeting initial expectations? I don't know this information at all, so I was hoping to ask the active playerbase here bc I figure you guys probably know best about those titles as well.

If that was a poor assumption then my bad :sadelf:

Maybe you can help me out with info if you do happen to know those things-- I really don't have time to waste watching grifters on both sides lie to me on youtube about the situation, so figured I would just come ask the active playerbase here. :winterpenguin2023:

There are some really ugly rumors swirling around, I just want to make sure I don't actually PURCHASE a game that is going to be abandoned at 95% completion or something like that.

just trying to make an informed purchasing decision, and I thought comparing to recent ubisoft releases might be a good place to start and extrapolate from.

Be well!
