The original devs that made the first games up to black flag and maybe Unity are long gone by now. After that we started getting these really bland games that diluted what Assassins creed was all about (stealth+parkour).
This game is more about stealth and parkour than any of the previous ones

isn't it obvious? DEI hires and wokness. Political activist are the ones trying to make games now. When you hire on race and politics rather then skill and experience, this is what happens. They basically brought their studio back to the stone age.

Go troll somewhere else please. We're not talking about this.
And no one is disrespecting anything, you'd know if you played it

Are you saying the prime minister of japan DIDN'T come out and speak against the desecration of ancient temples and artifacts?

"The new “Assassin's Creed” game sparked some controversy in Japan over concerns about how players could destroy artifacts in Japanese shrines and temples. Hiroyuki Kada, a member of Japan's National Diet, the country's parliament, raised concerns about the game in a meeting of the legislative body earlier this week."

It's not trolling if it's the truth, and the truth is ubisoft is about to go bankrupt for trying to change history and treating the japanese culture disrespectfully. I haven't heard an american president talk about a video game since the 90s. Here we have the PM and other members of the Japanese government speaking out against Shadows.

Yasuke wasn't even a Samurai and that's a historical fact. He was more of a squire/retainer if anything.

While Yasuke is often portrayed as a samurai in popular culture, historical evidence suggests he was a retainer or servant of Oda Nobunaga, not a formally recognized samurai, though he was granted a sword and other honors.
Here's a more detailed look at Yasuke's role and the historical context:
Yasuke's Background:
Yasuke, an African man, arrived in Japan in the service of Italian Jesuit missionary Alessandro Valignano in 1579.
Service to Nobunaga:
He caught the attention of Oda Nobunaga, a powerful daimyo (feudal lord), who took him into his service and gave him a Japanese name, Yasuke.
Retainer or Servant:
While Yasuke served Nobunaga and was granted a sword, a residence, and a stipend, historical accounts suggest he was more of a retainer or servant rather than a formally recognized samurai.
Lack of Formal Samurai Training:
Unlike samurai, who were born into the warrior class and underwent rigorous training from a young age, there's no evidence to suggest Yasuke received such training or was officially recognized as a samurai.
Honors and Favors:
Despite not being a samurai, Yasuke was granted honors and favors by Nobunaga, including a sword, a residence, and a stipend, which may have led to the misconception that he was a samurai.
Popular Culture vs. History:
The depiction of Yasuke as a samurai in popular culture, particularly in video games and anime, has contributed to the misconception that he was a samurai.
Debate and Speculation:
Historians continue to debate whether Yasuke was a samurai, with some arguing that he was a retainer or servant, while others suggest he may have been an honorary samurai.
"Vush" or Squire:
Some historians suggest that Yasuke's role was akin to a "vush" or squire in medieval Europe, rather than a samurai.
Yes the PM of Japan is an idiot. Most PMs are. They're known for it.
Nothing in this game is trying to disrespect anything. You've always been able to climb temples and churches and things which are much more sacred and holy in all the AC games. Why was it fine in Rome and Constantinople but when it's in Japan it's disrespectful?
And it doesn't matter what Yasuke was in real life. This isn't real life. This is a game which uses history to tell it's own story. Not my problem if you can't understand those very simple facts

Ok? Then don't play it lmao? Why are you wasting your time even looking at games you know you don't like?

Everything looks so extremely mid at best. The visuals are stunning, but the gameplay is barely average. The fact that remaining prone or walking on the roofs mess up the npc's is hilarious. I wish that they spend more budget on being solid and innovative rather than visually stunning and including extremely odd things. It is a shame that even parkour isn't good even though that is one of the things that made this series so big.

Diving down = death since your aim doesnt matter at all.
Jumping on ledges = fail 90% of the time, because Naoe doesnt grab it.
Verticality is stupid because the NPC's don't understand it.

Disappointed as well, but will likely pick it up for PS5 once all the content is out and it goes on sale for $20. Not going to buy it on PC because there is no way to know if the developer will be around and with the DRM requirements this game could end up being unplayable.

You are very smart. I bet you never get got. I wait for 20 dollars as well. Completed game, gold edition w all stuff, 20 bucks or less. That's my MO.

It seems like there is a heavily concerted effort to shape public perception positively and chop down the grass roots negative feedback this game is receiving.
