Gosh darn it, when does Yasuke unlock?! D:
I've been playing at least 20 hours now, did all the quests associated with Wada Koretake, Wakasa, Ido Yoshihiro, and killed them all. What more do I need to do to unlock Yasuke? Someone told me just keep playing the main quest but it feels like Yasuke is a supporting role that was only added in to avoid DEI accusations, Naoe is the main protagonist. I mean he isn't even an Assassin and doesn't have his own hidden blade. So we basically get punished for wanting to play as him instead of Naoe. But 25+ hours before unlocking him feels like a way to entice players to stick out Naoe's 30 hour slog of an introduction and force us to like her.

Eh, sorry, got a little carried away whining there but seriously, when does Yasuke unlock? What quests do I need to do? I can't tell what are main quests and what are side-quests either, how do I know the difference? I just want to unlock Yasuke so I can actually start doing all the side-content and swap between the two. I'm hoping it's actually open world at some point because right now the world feels very linear with cliffs and other obstacles forcing you down a set path so there isn't any exploration. It feels kind of old school like Witcher 2. :(

I played 18 hours and was already forced to play him, to continue the main story. I believe he unlocks after the 3. kill target. The main story is the guys in the circle with the mask in the middle.

There is a letter waiting for you at your hideout. That letter will allow you to progress further. Most will get to that point in just under ten hours. You need not level as the starter regions enemies. Will level to match the level of your character. There is zero point in grinding. there is zero point in side missions. You've made it take this long.

After killing the first 2 boss, meet the mitsusomething guy and do his quest and thats it. Took me about 14 hours and most of them i was just farming gear so realistically it should take about 9-10 hours.

Is that the "The Friend of My Enemy" quest? The reason it's taken this long is because I've been playing the game like Rise of the Ronin and just rushing in to take enemies on head to head on the hardest difficulty. lol
After act 1. That quest involving Oda & Matsu-something (dont remember his name). I was in a similar boat since im a completionist^^
