Hear me out
Do you remember when we all enjoy games for what it is? Some games do hypocritical things you are mentioning too for an example Sekiro has a black samurai as well but of course it is an NPC, the backlash of games being woke, left, right, it’s just a video game, I remember us having the mentality of ‘oh it’s just a game’ but whatever reason games have became political, yes PR stunts are real, Community Managers can be odd, nothing has changed in the gaming industry except for perspective views, most of everyone has been fighting for too long to enjoy a single player game entirely, I’m a Ghost of Tsushima advocate and so far Shadows didn’t really scratch the itch yet but I am only 7 hours in, there’s effort that developers behind the scenes put into the game and it shows theres also parts of it that doesn't shine so well, it’s just because of pressure mainly, developers sometimes do check the community out to get a understanding but it’s mostly the community management that engages and takes feedback and brings it back to the team.

Take care everyone and remember there’s always a face behind those games and mostly the companies that are bigger gets harder to maintain, business practices evolved over the years, things change, we just have to accept the fact.

they can't even distinguish Japanese and Chinese writing, lol going to bat for this company is shameful bro

Every single AC game that's ever existed has had a disclaimer to the effect of 'yeah, its just a setting, we're making it up'. You probably recoiled in horror because the disclaimer talks about how the game was made by 'a group of people of diverse faiths and beliefs'.

Sooo...

You're ok with the next T'challa being gay and white?

It's just a movie, right?

This type of logic is a two-way street, ya know.

Personally, I don’t mind as long as it isn’t forced, compared to Veilguard when I was playing on console the game was pretty forceful but I still completed it just to give it a fair chance.

They explicitly stated before release, and with a disclaimer in the actual game, that they take creative liberties with everything lol why are you spreading false information?

Could you send me this source, because I'm not spreading misinformation I'm just stating that it is in the game, people adapt and change so it is natural of them to add that in, it's creative liberty.

Incorrect. They've always said that they take creative liberties with the AC franchise and their game are only inspired by historical people and events. Unless you think Ezio was a real person that got in a fist fight with the pope and that Leonardo da Vinci was working with a group of assassins and made a real flying machine in the 1400s?

So does author integrity only matter some of the time and if so, whats the criteria?

Personally I'm indifferent to the race of anyone who appears in a movie or game unless it literally breaks the genre or premise of the movie in half but those movies are very thin on the ground. Sure, its probably harder to remake a blaxsploitation movie if the entire cast is from Utah, but it would be novel.

Honestly man, I wouldn't care either if it weren't for the whole "cultural appropriation" hoopla that people get so mad about these days.

Also, doesn't matter if Yasuke was a real, living, breathing Samurai or not, he's not an accurate representation of feudal Japan.

Anyways, y'all be good out there.

Who would’ve thought? If you hire activists from one side of the political spectrum and let them push their message, the people on the other side won’t buy your game.

Shocking.

Just let it be whatever vision the directors want it to be. It will appeal to whoever is into whatever they choose to release.
