Haters starting to realise they've lost and the game was a success.

Here's how this is gonna go:

People will come and say this is made up. Other people will come and say it's not, and this will circle back and forth for 20 pages.

Could easily be fixed if Steam made it so you need to own the game to comment on the forums.

Its only been 4 minutes and I've already got 2 more Jesters to add to the collection.
They are not happy.

Wouldn't work. Many forums are active before preorders and such for games even become available.

Why do they keep saying players and not sales? Monster hunter for example specified "sales".
Players are not payers, especially not when you have a subscription service.

Nah, that would lock me out. I have it on Uplay, so :P
Maybe I'm getting too old for this sh*t, but why are people so concerned with what others like or do not like? If you don't like Ubi or their games, don't play them. If others honestly enjoy games you don't like, it's not really your problem either. Just let people enjoy their stuff.

Players while not meaning total sales we gotta remember many people is playing using ubisoft subscription wich is about 18$ a month even tho that is a good amount off money depending on how many bought it just for shadows they cant really say its a sold copy so using player numbers would mean they can say a higher number than the amount off copies sold at 70$

We will see by end of the month if this is a success or not. So far it seems they are hush hush with the sales. And with Ubipass its a bit tricky to say this 2m players are all who bought the game.

Do you mean players or copies sold? Because it's not the same thing...companies are interested in sales.
This stat means nothing. Not saying it flopped or not yet, but let's wait and see the actual sell through number along with its legs for a couple months.

My point exactly. I have slight suspicion that if the game had excellent sales, they'd be boasting about that instead.

Because Ubisoft usually don't share sale numbers and usually talk about players instead. Sales numbers are usually higher anyways as not everyone who has bought the game has played it yet. I've bought it but I'm completing a game before I start playing it.

There are obviously those who are subscribed to Ubisoft Plus but apparently they make up a small percentage.

In the past people used to fight for Twitter Likes as online validation
But then Likes were able to be botted, it could be monetizable so bait and lies were all over, and so getting your 20 Likes just didn't do it for folks because someone can just repost stolen art and get 25,000+

So now it's all about "owning the chuds" or "owning the wokes" even though it's not something you can brag about IRL
You can tell folks you got good engagement on Twitter, but if you said
"Oh yeah the game I didn't like flopped.", folks don't really have a way to respond to that other then 'Okay."
