How do I drop from an edge?

I just cannot jump down to a hole to get the scroll. It either jump across it or either drop down to hold the edge and not dropping the whole character down to the ground.

If I'm hanging onto the edge of a low roof and hit Ctrl, I'll drop to the ground.

Did you adjust your key bindings in any way?

I know that if I keep hitting Ctrl from higher up, Naoe will continue to find ways to keep dropping safely to the ground.

Walk to the edge of the hole that you want to jump into and hit Ctrl. She will climb down and hang from that ledge. Then hit Ctrl again and she will drop into the hole wherever the scroll is.

I didnt change any bindings. I will try tmr. I have been playing for 10 hours today. I want to rest

I had the same issue after changing walk to toggle - after rebinding walk to another key I can drop down normally

I know OP has probably figured it out by now since it's a day old but for anyone else...

Hold crouch button and move towards ledge. Keep crouch held to continue safely climbing down.
