The combat feels a bit unreasonable for an AC game
A lot of attacks are un-dodgable and can't be parried by average players because the window to do so in so many of them is less than a quarter second. The combat is inconsistent and can be as easy as mashing R! or feel like you're playing Rise of the Ronin or Ninja Gaiden requiring Godlike reaction times. Even hardcore games like Ninja Gaiden and Sekiro give you a more reasonable window to react. The attacks that are particularly a problem are the ones where enemies hold their attack and then strike in the blink of an eye. The visual prompt appears at the exact same time the attack comes out and therefore doesn't serve as a visual prompt because the attack is already landing when it appears, it's quite literally impossible to react to these attacks because there's no cue as to when it's going to come. There are also enemies that are placed in missions that are downright invincible and you can't fight or assassinate them, just run away if they see you. I'm not sure how I feel about that at all. It doesn't feel like Assassin's Creed.

So far though that's been the only issue I've noticed, but it's weird since the combat otherwise is literally just mashing R1 and hacking and slashing through the levels.

AC games haven't been AC for a long, long time.

They obviously patched the game together quickly in the last few months.
Combat is more difficult than Valhalla or Odyssey, but I do enjoy the challenge this time as I have to dodge and block more rather than just spam godlike abilities. Still, blocking as Naoe seems less reasonable than rolling away, I hope this changes as I level up later.
I find it easier to Dodge-Roll with Naoe if you want the advantage bonus. However, you may do it 15 times before you nail it perfectly.

I'm still not good at using her Deflect. She deflects, then steps sideways giving her the advantage. That is very hard to do. Every enemy is different. It also has to be timed perfectly. And if you miss, you're dead in one or two hits on the hardest difficulty.

I still attempt Deflect, but it causes more deaths because some enemies will take three quick swings at you. If you miss on those while practicing Deflect, you're dead.

I've had none of these problems with it. It's not a difficult game by any means
