Afro Samurai did it right

No one complained about the anime Afro Samurai even though it was about a black man who was some sort of a Samurai in a future neo-feudal world setting.

Yasuke as portrayed in the world of AC Shadows is too immersion-breaking because it comes across as too historically unrealistic even for a historical fiction then you add on top of that the homosexuality layer which has been frowned upon throughout the entirety of human history and in the vast majority of cultures.

The way Yasuke is portrayed would have been more appropriate if done in a more imaginary / mythical world where the writers can be way more liberal in their portrayal without a concern to immersion, similar to Afro Samurai.
