Assassin's Creed Shadows
Fuss over Japanese Culture in AC Shadows feels like a Double Standard
I have my own reasons for not liking this game, and personally, I don’t see the point in buying it. That said, I’d like to ask why people keep harping on about respecting Japanese culture as if it’s the biggest issue with AC: Shadows. This argument is ridiculous because AC has been veering into hardcore historical fiction for ages, and no one cares. Getting offended on behalf of or as the Japanese is just laughable. Have you ever watched anime? Played games made by Japanese developers? For over twenty years, they’ve been doing whatever they want with Western culture, and nobody seems to get upset about it. Can someone explain this hypocrisy to me?

As a swede, when the viking "MALE" in valhalla had a female name, a grandma name - it was the first step in the wrong direction to people like me, and this was a second.
People should "speak up" and if ubi soft doesnt change, fair enough, but some of us move on.

Mhm, sure. But hey, let's add some extra info :

"Gender Distribution

Eivor is considered a unisex name, and is used by both males 69.23% and females 30.77%, based on recent birth statistics."

?

My female teacher who was in her 60s back in the 90s was named Eivor, didnt know any males named Eivor here.

Bro's bringing in actual statistics only to get countered by "proof by anecdotal evidence".

Did you even finish primary school yet if you can't distinguish the two?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eivor
"Eivor, Eivør or Øyvor is a female given name in the Nordic countries."

As for fake info on it being unisex name:

https://www.nordicnames.de/wiki/Eivor
The table proudly displays that there are exactly ZERO (0) males named Eivor.
