AC Shadows doesn't look like a success to me
AC Shadows is NOT a success—stop gaslighting yourself.

This game likely cost $500 million to $1 billion in total. Ubisoft games like this involve 1,000-2,000 developers across multiple studios for 5+ years. Add in marketing, voice acting, and all the extra costs, and the break-even point is massive.

Just saying, "It has players" means nothing. Even 100k concurrent players on Steam would be a terrible sign. If this game only sells 7-9 million copies, it's a financial disaster—and even that looks unlikely. Realistically? Maybe 3-4 million if we’re being generous with consoles and Uplay.

This is the end of an era for Ubisoft. Expect them to be sold to Tencent in the next 3-6 months.

And let’s be clear: AC Shadows was NEVER going to be a success unless it sold 20-25 million copies. Ubisoft is bleeding money from multiple failed projects (Skull & Bones, Avatar, Outlaws, etc.), and they needed a massive hit to compensate.

For comparison, Valhalla only hit 20 million sales because:

- It launched alongside next-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X), boosting hype.
- It released during the pandemic, when people were stuck at home playing massive open-world games.

Neither of those conditions exist anymore. AC Shadows is failing, and Ubisoft is running out of time.

It hasn't even been 24 hours since the launch, and it has already sold 1 million.
The Steam numbers don't mean anything, as this game is on 4 other platforms, and most people had it pre-ordered long before it was available on Steam.

You read it wrong. It says 1 million players, not sales.

They did this with veilguard too. Do everything you can to make it look like a success! The cult demands it!

So, are there players who didn't pay for the game?
The cheapest way to get it is by paying for Ubisoft+, which also gives money to Ubisoft. 1 million people paid to play it in less than 24 hours.

Yeah, BioWare said that too. Then the layoffs started.

Someone signing up for ubisoft's subscription service and cancelling a month later is not the same as a sale. Budgets are a real thing and this game was expensive to make.

You're gaslighting yourself if you think a month subscription is the same thing as buying it at full price.

Are you nuts? Of course it took 69 billion to make. We had to be sure to only use the finest bulls from brazzers in our motion capture to really animate odas sister getting railed by her bull.
