the game is forcing you to fight from the shadows, kill people, hide their bodies and never be seen. if you go straight forward to their face, you will die.
this is how AC and similar games always worked. try to run in a HITMAN game and see what happens.
They don't throw rocks in this game. You've been playing too much Bannerlord.
I'm upgrading all of the tools. First one you get is smoke.
Your enemies aren't supposed to see you with Naoe. At worst, you should be doing hit and runs.
One of the first things that I did with Naoe was clear that loot ship off the nearby coast. On the hardest settings. All I had was entry level gear and smoke bombs.
It wasn't easy. I died a couple of times, but if you are patient, and sneaky, it can be done.
Gamers are impatient. That's why they always blame the developers when they are killed in a video game. They act like they are the smartest people on the planet.
Some of them actually believe it.
Then you wouldn't have enjoyed playing the series around its inception. She handles a whole hell of a lot like the old school assassin protagonists. What you are experiencing is good old power trip withdrawal. I prescribe getting good, or going with easy mode. Frankly it isn't that much more challenging, and the challenge itself isn't cheap.
With that being said I do have a recommendation. Have you ever tried the Prototype games? I don't see them in your games library. They are all about chaining, and using crowd control. You'll probably really like them.
