Why No Assassin's Creed in Iran?
It's intriguing that Ubisoft hasn't created an Assassin's Creed game set in Iran, especially given the historical significance of the Nizari Ismailis (Assassins) who originated there in the 11th century. Led by Hassan-i Sabbah, they established their stronghold in Alamut Castle and became known for their covert operations and strategic assassinations.

With such a rich history that fits perfectly with the Assassin's Creed narrative, why has Ubisoft overlooked Iran?

Probably because you guys already have an entire franchise dedicated to you which literally has Persia written in its title?
This is closer to the truth than you might realize. After Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Ubisoft had an idea for a sequel and they eventually turned it into the first Assassin's Creed. The IPs would likely be too similar, however Persia obviously could have a part in a future game. Likely will not be the main setting though.
