Why No Assassin's Creed in Iran?
It's intriguing that Ubisoft hasn't created an Assassin's Creed game set in Iran, especially given the historical significance of the Nizari Ismailis (Assassins) who originated there in the 11th century. Led by Hassan-i Sabbah, they established their stronghold in Alamut Castle and became known for their covert operations and strategic assassinations.

With such a rich history that fits perfectly with the Assassin's Creed narrative, why has Ubisoft overlooked Iran?

its too sensitive politically plus the kngihts templar arent powerful enough to stand up for them self against this injustice to history and honor, so they make game in japan full of misinformation and lies because they know japan is bound by international law to never take the offensive so they are basically unable to defend themselves against ubisoft lying about their culture.
what they've done to japan is an unforgivable and unforgettable humiliation. and i say this as a european.

you see them being all polite and everything..... may God have mercy on their enemies

where is this originally from? it's very philosophical.
It's from a classic anime from the 80's called Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star). This phrase became a meme in recent years, it's old but very entertaining, main character is inspired in Bruce Lee.

Ubisoft have been giving love to Iran since Prince of Persia. I guess that it's hard for them to release an Assassin's Creed in Iran without it having a lot of similarities to Prince of Persia.

AC is inspired by the real assassins but they're not the same story, so far there are so many regions the franchise didn't visit at all, and i dont think an AC game in Iran/Persia will happen any time soon.

I'm just surprised we got Mirage at all, which took place in Baghdad, Iraq. I don't see Iran ever happening.
Saudi Arabia just paid Ubisoft a load of money in order to get a expansion for Mirage. Expect a DLC after Shadows.
Probably because you guys already have an entire franchise dedicated to you which literally has Persia written in its title?

i think a smaller game on the scale of mirage could work, with Darius in Persia

I'm just surprised we got Mirage at all, which took place in Baghdad, Iraq. I don't see Iran ever happening.

The setting of baghdad was during the golden age of arabs, and they took some inspiration from persian architecture when building their ultra luxury city with springs and gardens, and large architecture to flaunt their power and wealth. At that point, they were one of the wealthiest nations on earth.

You can wonder why mirage does not reflect that? So in that regards mirage is not even a proper representation of Baghdad during its golden age. They are just calling it baghdad as a cash grab without putting in the effort of creating that kind of a detailed city that would show the rich history and culture of the people.

People who at the moment are also victims of wars, and conflict, and if they bothered to elevate the arabs, it might make it difficult for the news to create a tone death narrative when talking about the depressing situation in the middle east and specifically, Iraq. (Does a game have that much influence on impressionable minds of young video gamers?)

For example if people in any western army cared too much about a group of people that are not necessarily allies of the west, it would mess with the ability of their soldiers to follow orders against that group. Sounds like a conspiracy, but also the arab golden age is tied in with religion, so it would be glorifying the islamic faith if they made the round city as glorious as it was described in the past. You can make your own conclusions why they didnt bother.

As you said, it is surprising they even bothered to make 'mirage'. Ironic name, since mirage means you see something better than what it really is. So makes you think why they even called it that.

i think the reason behind the name mirage has to do with the story. basim's relationship to his friend nehal being an illusion, and him realizing that along with realizing he is the reborn isu loki.

Interesting, but still makes you wonder on the naming choice, in the same vien calling the game shadows but one of the main characters stands outs as a giant with an axe (katana) to grind and is anything but subtle.

and the other character, naoe, is able to hide in the shadows. being able to use the shadows made by dynamic lighting as a way to avoid detection is like the big addition to stealth in this game.
i mean, i understand alot of people are looking at yasuke and interpreting everything through that lense, but there is another character, and she seems to be what the Shadows stealth system is based around, and hence the name.
you are free to interpret it differently, but i think you may be looking for shapes in the shadows that arent there.

Wasn't the name chosen before Yasuke was included? When they had male/female shinobi as protagonist? It would make for sense because in your description of the name, Ragnar Random, you totally dismiss Yasuke existence, like he is not even part of the game.

yah i dunno. i havent seen anything about there originally being a male and female shinobi pair from any reliable source. i dont know if they added yasuke later, i dont know if he replaced another character, there is no evidence for or against that from a reliable source. (asmongold and thatparkplace dont count as reliable sources, quoting from "anonymous source close to the game" that dont exist)
i dont know why the called the game shadows or what the reason was, i was only giving what i thought was a plausible theory. just like i don't know why they called ac mirage by that name, i only game what i thought was a plausible theory.
yasuke exists, i never suggested i dismissed his existence, you read into what i said and pulled that out of it.

This is closer to the truth than you might realize. After Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Ubisoft had an idea for a sequel and they eventually turned it into the first Assassin's Creed. The IPs would likely be too similar, however Persia obviously could have a part in a future game. Likely will not be the main setting though.
