I don't care if some people don't think AC-Odyssey is a real Assassin's Creed, but this game is a real masterpiece for me personally. And if this streamer loves Odyssey as much as I do, then AC-Shadows seems to be a really great game.
Folks were saying they're a bit skeptical on how good it is if folks are saying it's better then Valhalla and Odyssey as for some that is a high bar to beat.
Still I'm kind of excited about the idea of Yasuke being completely new to Japan and not knowing anything
Stranger in a Strange Land vibes
During the first playthrough, my focus will be completely on Naoe, but that doesn't mean that Yasuke doesn't interest me. I really hope that the developers have some surprises in store so that we grow fond of Yasuke. He must have an amazing personality and maybe he will conquer many of us.
I'm not one of those people who had anything against him from the beginning anyway. He's not Japanese, but that doesn't matter to me. I just want to play an expressive character that I won't forget as quickly as some other protagonists.
From what one person said you can play 90% of the game as one or the other depending on which gameplay style you like of combat or stealth
So you can play 90% of the game as Yasuke or 90% as Naoe
I have no problem with that at all.
Really not.
But woe betide it, it's one percent more.
i'm looking forward to it, and looking forward to the trolls moving on to the next manufactured outrage.
I suspect the usual suspects will shift goal posts or get real petty if the game does good. The fact they're going after key art now. They just want to be angry, nothing more.
It's clear Ubisoft knows if the game does bad it's over so they're cooking as hard as they can to show that "they still got it"
If the game does well I suspect a major shift in Ubisoft
Will probably cut down on staff cause I'm told they have way too many
Maybe investment from Tencent
Maybe even finally make the Splinter Cell game everyone keeps wanting
they are the king of microtransactions and battlepass stuff. ubi-soft is already bad with mtx crap, especially those horrible "time saver" pay-for-a-cheat-code type of thing.
my favorite game is conan exiles, and when tencent bought funcom they basically ruined the game in alot of ways -- forcing devs to push update on a given time frame whether its stable or not, balance-breaking mtx items. design has taken a backseat to driving revenue. that's what tencent does, and i dont think it will be good for ubi-soft to get WORSE with mtx crap when they are already pretty terrible with it. tencent wants every game to feel like a sh1tt# f2p mobile game.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft is already doomed if you think about it, as lastest releases didn't improve nothing of their value. The last "successful" game was AC Valhalla and mostly because of the pandemic 2020, as many people had to stay in their homes. I don't remember a real good game they've made that all my friends talked about it or liked to play on their PC/PS5/XBOX.
Those who played the game earlier, probably also talked good because they want the full game for free, but if Ubisoft released a demo, it would be way better for everyone to see. if this game don't succeed, it's probably the last in the Assassin's Creed franchise.
I'm interested in the game mostly because of the setting, waiting for the release while also being critical due to all things that have been done. I don't think I've said anything wrong though, while also looking for critical thinking of others. I actually had some good back and forth in many topics, so far so good. Do you think everyone should just shut up just because don't agree with something they don't like? Yes, there's trolls everywhere but there's also just worried consumers.
Just don't group everyone in the same plate, at least some do think for themselves and talk properly.
