Why no co-op?
Is Witchfire going to release a co-op capability in the future?, or have i totally missed reading it somewhere?

Thanks.

No where was this ever advertised as multiplayer, in fact, they specifically mentioned SINGLE PLAYER in their trailers.

i wish it will get. Have the good core for PVE. just even by adding hp scaling and just second player will be enough with not much effort in balancing.

I honestly hoodwinked myself with this one. I just associated the style with Vermintide and I figured it'd be the same kind of thing, but yeah, I don't think it's ever been advertised as anything but solo.

It's nothing like Vermintide though. Think Destiny and Roboquest with 1890s guns. You zip across the map, style on enemies etc.

The gunplay is deadass Destiny. Not even joking. The handcannons feel the same.

Why make a game of this caliber and not have the possibility to play with friends? At least in pairs or in teams of three.
The developers of Space Marine 2 gave us that opportunity...

We are not ruling out co-op in the future but to be perfectly honest, the chances for it are very slim.

The reason is that co-op trivializes a lot of our gameplay the same way it does in any Souls game. Imagine an enemy that has the only vulnerability on their back. It's a challenge for the lone player: you have to maybe freeze the enemy to quickly circle around them, or you need to sneak around them using the environment. With co-op, however, one player aggros the enemy while the other just fires at their back. Boom, done in five seconds.

Actually, to drive the point home, in the latest update we have added a feature where you can call the ghost of a Fallen Preyer to serve as a bait for enemies. Your "coop" AI friend. Suddenly, for those few seconds, the game is a shooting gallery...

Is this unsolvable? Of course not. But it works best when you design with coop in mind from the start. Meanwhile, we designed Witchfire as a single player game, during which you often take pause to think of the next move, consult the map, spend you sweet time in the Hermitorium to level up, research gear, apply Prophecies etc.

Also, the game is designed in a way that makes it hard to unleash all four elements (Freeze, Decay, Burn and Shock) on enemies at the same time, because that is an insane combo. With two players, though, it's super easy.

To sum it up, we are 100% focused on making the best possible Single Player game, without even thinking what it would mean for co-op. After that's done, we might take a look at co-op, but chances of that happening are very slim. A great Single Player experience is our priority.

I would just throw out that people looking for a similar experience with coop might consider the Remnant series.

because if you ever watch gameplay of this game you will understand why co-op is not needed or wouldn't even fit.
This game is built to be a singleplayer experience since how the maps are and everything else

since it's not built around co-op, players need to learn to enjoy game by themself too

A developer has already responded to the topic with a big text. Why are you bumping the topic by repeating the answers? If you want attention, try running down the street naked.

bs since the devs anwsered further up and said

"We are not ruling out co-op in the future but to be perfectly honest, the chances for it are very slim."

That means no, this game is not even built for co-op, and to be honest it's fine. All games doesent need a co-op option, people need to learn to enjoy games alone too

Roboquest has co-op. What problems?
