Too fast animations
Comparing to old Abe's Oddysee, the new game has too fast animations in my opinion.
Just look at how fast Abe gets up after running into wall, the same think with Sligs - too fast waking up, shooting animation. There's also no delay in responsing to Abe (when you tell them "hi" they will immediately at the same time also say "hi", you can't even hear Abe). Portals are opening up too fast, you are jumping into well too fast, entering the door too fast and many more.
I hope devs will improve that or at least add as an "oldschool option" in settings.

the original game was pretty much like that too though
Yup, looks silly. Even on the main menu Abe is jumping around to your command and going in and out of his hole thing at lighting speed. However, when you die it seems to be at a normal speed which is even more annoying because you just wanna respawn and not wait.

+1 on the immediate Slig replies. They should wait for Abe to finish speaking, not speak the moment he starts.
+1, although the game looks gorgeous, the animations and responses are too fast.

not at all, i immediately noticed the immediate response time after giving an order, unlike the original in which you needed to wait like half a second and plan accordingly

Totally agree, I hate how fast the animations are, and how could they not notice the immediate slig replies? Theres no way thats intented.

Elastic Fantastic,
Fortunately you can speed up the respawn animation, after you die just press F9.
When you want to respawn even faster just when you hit the checkpoint press F5, and the respawn time will be as fast as you press F8.

Maybe you guys should try locking the game to 30fps and see if that helps.
You get used to it, no big deal.
It seems to be a problem for abe mostly though, a lot of the other animations looks fine, but abe's mass when falling compared to a slick for example is inconsistent, same goes with the tubes and all the other things you have mentioned. The game feels like it was meant for speed runners, because you can get really fast through some areas now, and without any trouble.

The animations have been like this since release on the PS4 so I find it if unlikely that they are going to change such thing now.

I've kind of gotten use to it now

Still a great remake, but yeah the animations don't look as nice, and abe doesn't feel as 'heavy' if you know what I mean

One thing I did turn on straight away, was to use a button to run, it was so weird the way it was
yeah noticed that too but doesn't really bother me.
A lot of the animations look great and really fluid. Which is why the few that aren't stand out some more.

They actually used to be slower.

The reason Abe's movements look so weird/unnatural is because the animations were originally created at a lower framerate, then they arbitrarily decided to speed them up without reanimating them.

They're the exact same animations as the video above, just in fast forward.

This is pretty much the one thing that's putting me off the game. I don't mind so much the rest of the changes, but those jerky awkward sped-up animations really bug me.
