What a pointless thing to say lol. Elaborate on how they "f'ed" it up. I happen to think the game is equal to or even better than the original, and that's coming from someone whos first playstation game was Abe's Oddysee.
That's our hopes, too. Criticism is great, but the vast majority of feedback on New 'n' Tasty has been super positive.
Just because you dislike his opinion does not make it automatically wrong, especially under the condition he put a lot of weight and support, instead of just blatantly stating it (like most Steam users usually do, because they don't know thing about basic rules of discussion).
There is a difference between nitpicking and deconstructing a system to its basic components to understand what makes whole picture look good, what makes thing tick. If he did pick up just 2 of the small aspects they would look insignificant on the background of the rest, so he would have to use hyperbola and inflate them artificially a lot to make them look significant. That would be NITPICKING.
But he did not do that. He literally went through whole set of aspects of the spoken media: visuals, design, gameplay, audio and picked numerous amounts of things and concentrated his attention on them, explaining what in his opinion works and what not, using the original game as a contrast example. This is what called a CONSTRUCTIVE CRITIQUE.
I know that explaining to Steam user on Steam forums such simple things is like throwing your pearls before swine, but I had free minute and felt like it was necessary.
you'll get mine once i start playing it and then 40 hours later ill post a review
People have not really seen the PC version yet, just compressed youtube video of it. Play the old one then watch the video, most of the stuff is a non-issue. Sound and animation smoothness for actions is probably the biggest, plus easily fixed (as devs have mentioned already...).
And to the cheap-asses, this is approx 20% of the price of the original game.
Also love the new secret areas, giving new challenges to people who already beated the original game.
Keep on the job and bring us abe's exoddus remake guys :D
People put the hate boner away it only makes you look stupid, acting like a mindless sheep swayed completely because you want to appear as some harcore gaming purist. ( What I mean is this guy is up his own ass, I doubt it smells good, why are so desperate to join him. )
My first game was actually Abe's Odysee and i've played it like a f'ton of times, i literally saved all mudokons on the remake solely making my memory guide me :D.
I love the atmosphere of the first game and i love how they remade it, feels like nowadays everything must be mauled to the ground and be called a piece of garbage, there's literally no middle ground when reviewing games. JAW and OI remade this game in the most beatiful way possible, my experience was one of the best of all my gaming life, seeing my first game ever be remade in 2014 graphics left a huge smile on me all the way through, bravo really, if i could kiss you i would :D
Yeah, bloom and the ending credits music could have been done better but the amount of work put on everything made these extremely minor details negligible. Here's hoping to an even better Exoddus remake!
Btw only fools pre order....
