How to make fire without a lighter?

I accidently threw away my lighter. Can't I rub some sticks together or something?

If you're lucky you find another one in a wreck, other than that, there is no way to make fire yet.

i have not found away to but u can find one in a ship wreck some times

u can also survive with out one atm

Sardines dont need to be cooked either, but they dont fill up your food bar very fast

You can harvest potatos minutes later after just doing it. I also have the habit of hitting Q instead of W. Frustrating, isn't it?

Talk about frustrating. I left my lighter on the floor not realizing objects fall through it and get stuck under it and there is no way to pick anything up that gets stuck down there....

I might try rowing far away and coming back to see if it unfreezes. Maybe then I can get it on the ground but I'm not hopeful.

Use a cutting tool on the foundation to destroy it and retrieve any items stuck under it.

Which cutting tool? I tried a metal ax but it doesn't damage the foundation only the supports. Do I have to destroy the roof/walls/supports first?

we definately need a way to start fire without the infinite fuel lighter.. yucca and 2 shards should spark to flame!

That is not something that ever leaves my inventory, especially if I have only one. Starting with the 5th lighter I would put it elsewhere.

I moved my "drop" key to "g". That way I don't accidentally drop things if I miss the tab button. That is how I lost my paddle.

found three lighters so far. I've spread them out across strategic isles and marked it off on my map so I know where to go when feeling like some hot food.
But man, I almost starved to death once because I forgot my compass! :P
