Save during co-op?

Although my wife and I really enjoyed SE3, the major problem we had with it was the extremely long missions. For reference, I mean playing the campaign missions in co-op.

In the single player game, you can save wherever and whenever you want, so the overall length of each mission isn't a big deal. In co-op, it seems we couldn't do that and that meant missions could sometimes last four hours or so. That made playing sometimes a very difficult thing to do as having several hours of uninterrupted time is quite rare.

Can we save mid-mission during dedicated co-op missions and/or during campaign missions played in co-op? If we can, then SE4 is just about an "instant buy."

You cannot manually save but you can use the autosave/checkpoint system to reload after a death (The host will see the red radar icon when it saves). It may also be possible to use it to continue a game using those autosaves but I've never tried that before.

The host can save the game at any point (the limitations are similar as in SP mode - you can't save when either one of two players is looking through binoculars or searching a body - the option is grayed out). When you save, just check, that the time stamp is correct.

If you want to continue that game, you create same conditions - same host, invite same co-op player and as soon as he is joined into your created game, the button for "load game" will appear at the bottom middle and you can load that savegame from before.

Awesome! Is this possible in SE3 as well? I was just wondering about that because it's entirely possible my wife and I missed that option.

Can't really remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it is available in SE3 too.
