Naval Action

Good Game for a Co-op Vs World of War Ships?
Hi All,

One my best friends is not a gamer (except he's supposedly beat every almost every level of angry birds). He loves constructing things and boats and actually built a wooden 60ft+ boat with a friend that he loves to sail.

I wanted to get a strategy video game involving boats that he would enjoy to play with me so we could have some good friend time (he lives many states away now) and he loves the idea - do you think this is a good game in this regard? I was originally considering World of War Ships, but I can't tell which is better for coop or people that want to play together in some capacity? I'm aware that it's an open world time game, but wasn't sure if you can coop play with voice or if these are not these type of games really.

Any feedback or help is GREATLY appreciated....

Gabe

No one enjoys playing World of Tanks. Everyone there is angry, all the time.

The same applies to World of Warships.

Maybe if they'd let free players enjoy the game above Tier V it'd help a bit. And not try to sell ships and tanks at prices nearing 50-60$ at a time to cover server and development expenses. :D

The game controls very similarly to World of Warships in combat, except less help with aiming.

Ok well given the time period theme of this game and some of the comments about World of Warships, I think we'll try this one out!

Thanks guys the help!

Think I played 20 matches in WoWs, you seen where I ended up lol.

wows is a match based ship fighting game.. this is an mmo so generally this offers more ways for you to play with friends and other people.

Saying that if you just want instant action all the time then maybe wows is better.

I alpha/beta WoWS and its not a bad game for group play. Its actually pretty well geared for such a thing, very intuitive in that regard, but the game itself I dont care for. I could go into a whole dissertation about it, but no need. I will say WoWS community is not overly umm...nice, good, pleasant to be around, friendly? I think many of those would fit.

The real unfortunate, and this is HUGE, the real unfortunate part of WoWS is that the dev team/accountants for that game are completely insane w/their pricing. Ships that cost $70!! FOR A SHIP!! A single ship, that is percentage points better or worse than other ships of the same level. Can you imagine $70 for a DLC of ANY game. Pick it. CoD $70 rifle. Assassins $70 sword, $70 map for Borderlands, whatever, thats just stupid.

The devs here have made it abundantly clear, and theres posts on official and probably here, that they will not go w/over-priced, or P2W models, they hate them. Here is your choice

Great to know Caldrin and Anais - that seals the deal and we'll go with Naval Action then..

world of warships is entertaining at times, and it's free to play so no reason for you and your friend to not pick it up, it has coop mode where you and your team of players fight AI. That said I was waiting for this to hit steam to leave wows, massive open world, can do pve missions or pvp, it has small arena battles and large arena battles and is a lot of fun. I recently got a buddy of mine to start playing it, and despite him being convinced he wouldn't like it he caught up to me while I was busy yesterday, lol.
