You can sail a victory with 40 people, just dont espect to reload within 10 minuts ;)
Edit: There is no minimum crew you need to have to sail a ship, it will only impact peformance
normal snow has 11 on each side, and then a couple of chasers and rear guns
Oh it'll matter if you've on the PVP server. It affects your ability to turn and sail properly in combat - Have fun evading an attacker.
I dont like trading in very hostile waters to begin with :) it's true what you say, but i think sailing with a undercrewed trader snow has so much higher profit potential that it's worth it. You can pretty easely capture them anyways
Someone's gonna do it - You're not going to get Danish Beer to the US colonies, if you're too afraid to do the voyage in the first place. So local commodities will simply flood the cities to the point of being unprofitable.
A great example of this is the flood of Rum in the Danish Capital yesterday. It had so much Rum that the SELL prices had dipped below BUY prices. And will likely continue to do so for quite a while since it just can't consume that much rum.
They definitely arent' drinking enough of it in Christansted, heh.
Not enough crew? You won't even be able to escape if things go bad.
