Last I heard, a clan of +50 pirates swapped over to the US side. Maybe the devs will take a look if 2/3 of the server is the US faction (getting close to that already).
EVE us alone for gods sake. If you love that game so damned much, go play it. It's still online.
I can not speak from experience tho, I have not tried the European servers so not sure of the exact balances there.
I love how you think that's somehow valid or adds anything to the discussion.
Realistically something has to be done otherwise US PVP servers will have mostly US faction players. Honestly the way I see it is to either script it so any faction with lower members recieves a proportionally higher XP and gold boost, or to limit each factions server pop to a limit. I.E if the server limit is 1200 limit each faction to 150 players on the server at the same time. This means joining a bloated faction like the US you wont get the choice to play when ever you like, encouraging diversity of factions.
I am most admirant of your blatant disregard of reality on PvP2 and ability to form a concise post more full of feces than a constipated rhinoceros.
Britain is not threatened at the moment by the US at all and for the moment distant. It's in their interest to quietly farm French/Spanish holdings around Cuba.
Spain has a lot of ground to defend from both the British and the US. They've tried to appease the US so as to not get completely reamed.
Pirates are fighting the (US) from completely taking over their starting zone. Or they are off in the South East spanking non-defended British and French/Dutch holdings in the fatalistic thought that the US is going to wipe out most of the map anyway.
Dutch, Sweden and French? Wouldn't even tip the scale against the cheeseburger behemoth and they may as well not exist.
The top three non-US factions combined wouldn't get the numbers of the US faction. Finally, ignoring the distance that prevents any cross faction defense, there is no game mechanic to allow cross-faction port battles.
Ergo the superpower can and will fully fist each of its smaller neighbors as it chooses.
The problem to begin with was that the starting positions are strategically balanced around a more distributed faction population than PvP 2 currently has. Some form of incremental/proportional population cap would have pre-empted the situation.
1. resources being cheap - that is freakin laughable. people are selling fir for 500 per in our capital at times. we have more people meaning we have a higher demand in a fixed production market. meaning there isnt enough to go around.
2. most of the US doesnt even PVP. however, when the US does PVP they usually gather some forces to do it. they are organized. they have a plan.
3. eventually the US will spread itself too thin. you simply cant hold all those ports at one time considering the time it takes to get there and the numbers it takes to defend. the other nations need to coordinate with each other, not just within their own nations. if the US is such a threat, why are you fighting each other? consolidate and fight back. there are means to do so if such a desire existed.
4. eventually US players will get bored. too many wins and not enough losses gets old in time. i wouldnt be surprised if 1 of the 4 major US clans nation jumps or if some of the more PVP centric players unite and decide to fight the zerg.
Trying to appease US carebears huh?
We actually only have around 150 people out of the last time I checked about 600 people online.
I don't, but your obsession with that game borders on insanity.
