Official SFV: Arcade Edition Bug Reporting Thread
”Rise up, World Warriors!”

We hope you’re all enjoying or will be enjoying Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition shortly! While we hope all of our fans will have a great time with the game, there will always be some cases here and there where the game may not function correctly under certain environments and / or hardware combinations. With that said, we’ve set up this feedback thread for you all to share any technical issues you may be having with the game. We’ll use this thread as a central repository for tracking these problems, and pass on the information gathered here to the development team so they can investigate and work on a fix.

Before providing any reports, please ensure you've followed the steps below to rule out problems with your PC, Steam or the game’s files:

1. Check the game’s system requirements
Please make sure you meet the minimum requirements for the game, outlined on the bottom of the game’s Steam Store page; if you do not meet the minimum requirements for the game, this may result in poor framerate, or the game not running. Capcom does not warrant nor officially provide technical support for PCs that do not meet the official system requirements.

Please note that some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work, but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom.

If you’re using a multi-GPU setup such as NVIDIA’s SLI or ATI’s Crossfire technologies, we recommend experimenting with disabling these settings, as they may cause compatibility issues with the game.

If you do meet the minimum specifications but not the recommended specifications, you may want to try turning down the graphics settings, if you haven't already.

2. Add the game’s folder and files to your anti-virus program’s exception / exclusion list
Some issues with running the game may be attributed to certain Anti-Virus software preventing the game executable from launching due to a false-positive error. We recommend users add all of the following files and folders below to the Anti-virus and Firewall exclusion list to prevent this issue.

Note: to quickly access the following folders, press Windows Key + R then copy and paste the folder URL below.

StreetFighterV.exe:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64

Additional StreetFighterV data folder
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\StreetFighterV

Steam.exe:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

  8. McAfee Antivirus (Steam Support guide)
  9. Bitdefender*[www.bitdefender.com]
*Please note that for Bitdefender, you will need to also add both StreetFighterV.exe files to the program’s Whitelist. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Open Bitdefender
  2. Go to the Protection tab
  3. Click “View Feature”
  4. Click the gear icon inside the “Advanced Thread Defense” box
  5. Select “Add applications to the whitelist”
  6. Browse and navigate to the following StreetFighterV.exe files:

  8. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64
  9. Once both StreetFighterV.exe files are added, close Bitdefender and relaunch the game

3. Give administrator privileges to Steam and the game
Some users can get the game running properly by running Steam.exe in administrator mode. This can be done by right-clicking on the .exe file and selecting “Run as administrator.” If that doesn’t work, try running the game’s StreetFighterV.exe in administrator mode as well.

Steam.exe location:

4. Update your Video/Graphics Drivers and Windows Operating System
Try updating your video card drivers, as oftentimes outdated drivers can cause a variety of issues ranging anywhere from in-game graphical problems, to the game not starting, and more.

For the latest Nvidia drivers, click here[www.nvidia.com].
For the latest AMD drivers, click here[support.amd.com].

Additionally, please ensure that Windows Update has been run and that all the latest updates have been installed on your operating system.

If you still experience issues, you may want to try performing a clean installation of the video driver set. This will remove any extraneous driver DLL files or game profiles that existed with the previous driver installation.

To do a clean video driver install, many enthusiasts use a third-party program called Display Driver Uninstaller[www.guru3d.com] (DDU), which completely removes components that were part of the original driver installation package.

  1. Run DDU and uninstall old video driver.
  2. Install the latest OEM video card driver and reboot your PC.
  3. Run the latest DirectX installer package[www.microsoft.com] and reboot your PC.

IMPORTANT! Please don't forget to reboot Windows upon completing a video driver installation. This will help reinitialize the driver and the graphics card using the new driver.

5. Check your graphics driver settings & computer power settings
To reiterate, some high end integrated graphics chips and modern laptop class discrete GPUs may work, but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom. Laptops with dual GPUs, such as an Intel Integrated Graphics Processor and Nvidia Dedicated Graphics Card, may need additional configuration in the event the integrated processor is overriding the dedicated graphics drivers.

If using a dual Nvidia / Intel GPU, follow these steps:

  1. Install the latest Intel integrated drivers[downloadcenter.intel.com]
  2. Reboot your PC
  3. Open Nvidia Control Panel
  4. Click 'Manage 3D Settings'
  5. Go to 'Program Settings' and then select ‘Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’ (if it is not in the list you can add it manually by clicking 'Add')
  6. Scroll down to 'Power Management Mode'
  7. Set it to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' / ‘High Performance Processor’ instead of 'Adaptive'
  8. Close Nvidia Control Panel and launch Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

If using a dual AMD “Switchable Graphics” GPU, follow these steps:

  1. Open AMD Catalyst Control Center
  2. Under “Switchable Graphics”, select the High Performance section and select ‘Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’ (if it is not in the list you can add it manually by clicking 'Browse')
  3. Click ‘Apply’
  4. Close AMD Catalyst Control Center and launch Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Additionally, double-check your desktop / laptop’s power settings by performing the following:

  1. If using a laptop, ensure the charger is connected
  2. Open Control Panel
  3. Select Power Options
  4. Select “Change Plan Settings”
  5. Select “Change advanced power settings”
  6. From within the dropdown menu, select “High performance” and click ‘Apply’ then ‘OK’
  7. Launch Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

6. Reinstall the Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package and Update DirectX
Reinstalling the game’s Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable files and DirectX setup may also help resolve the problem. The installers are located in the following locations:

DXSETUP.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010

vc_redist.x64.exe & vc_redist.x86.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2013

We also recommend downloading and running the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer[www.microsoft.com].

6. Verify the game’s cache in Steam
Try verifying the game's cache in Steam. You can do so by following the steps outlined in this Steam support article (reposted below). This may find missing or damaged files that need to be repaired, even if you've just installed the game. You may also try temporarily disabling your anti-virus while verifying the cache or launching the game, as on occasion anti-virus programs may flag games or the files necessary to play them as a virus.

To verify the game’s cache, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer and launch Steam
  2. From the “Library” section, right-click on the game and select “Properties” from the menu.
  3. Select the “Local files” tab and click the “Verify integrity of game files...” button.
  4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
  5. Important: One or more files may fail to verify. This is normal for most Steam games. The files that fail to verify are local configuration files that should not be replaced as part of this process. You can safely ignore this message.

This process allows the Steam client to scan every single file you downloaded for this game, verify checksum of each, and compare that against the file manifest data on Steam's content server. If the file is missing or has a different checksum value, you will receive a message stating "X files failed to validate and will be reacquired." What this means is that some files have either been deleted, or may have been corrupted. Click “Close,” and Steam will automatically download and / or replace the problematic files.

7. Data Execution Prevention Troubleshooting
Some issues with launching Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition through Steam may also be tied to a Windows anti-virus and security feature called Data Execution Prevention, or DEP. DEP may be flagging the application as a false-positive and causing it to shut down. Users can follow these steps as a fix:
  1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  2. Click Advanced system settings. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Under Performance, click Settings.
  4. Click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
  5. To turn off DEP for an individual program, select the check box next to the programs that you want to turn off DEP for. In this case:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV\Binaries\Win64\StreetFighterV.exe

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\StreetFighterV\StreetFighterV.exe

    And then click OK.

If the program is not in the list, click Add. Browse to the Program Files folder, find the executable file for the program (it will have an .exe file name extension), and then click Open.
  6. Click OK, click OK in the System Properties dialog box if it appears, and then click OK again. You might need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

If you receive a “You Can Not Set DEP Attributes On 64-bit Executables” error when adding the 64-bit exe, try the following steps:

  1. Press ‘Windows Key + R’ (or click ‘Start’ --> ‘Run’) and type sysdm.cpl in the ‘Run’ dialog box. Click OK to open ‘System Properties’.
  2. In the ‘System Properties’ window, switch to the ‘Advanced’ tab and click ‘Settings’ under ‘Performance’.
  3. In the ‘Performance Options’ window, switch to the ‘Data Execution Prevention’ tab. Choose ‘Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select’. Click ‘Add’.
  4. The file browser dialog will open, where you need to change the 'Look in' folder and set it to SysWOW64. Now type the 'File name' as dllhost.exe and click ‘Open’. By doing this, you will be adding C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dllhost.exe (assuming C: is your system root drive) into the exception list.

8. Update Windows Media Player
Please ensure the appropriate version of Windows Media Player[support.microsoft.com] is installed on your system, as well as the appropriate Media Feature Pack for your version of Windows (restart your computer after installing a Media Feature Pack):

Sorry, your instructions are not appropriate. They destroy the windows 10 search functionality if people disable that service.
I want a 50% off discount on your game or better if not a full refund and the game and all future DLC(characters) for free(I don't care about colors).

Please work with Steam and give me the discount I deserve. In future, I suggest you immediately show people a notification of very common issues of "game crashing in multiplayer " on WIndows 10(and I'm guessing all others too).

I've spend 3 hours of "PLAY TIME" aka DEBUGGING your multiplayer issue where the game automatically terminated, and didn't even have an event viewer error for it.

Capcom Customer Service původně napsal:
9. Confirm whether you have a touch screen or touch-related device connected
Some Windows 10 computers run a process called “TabTip.exe”, utilized in computers with touch screens or touch-enabled devices, which can cause issues when trying to run Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. TabTip.exe can be disabled via the following steps:
  1. Right Click the Windows icon
  2. Click Run
  3. Type in “msconfig“
  4. In the Services Tab, Disable Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
Finally, if you have a touch-enabled device plugged into the computer, please disconnect this device prior to running Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
.

All users should have a notification on first-launch of the game WARNING USERS of WINDOWS 10 of this issue, that can kill the start menu.
If you have customer service, please private message or email me and work with me to provide me a discount.

I've debugged the issue on WINDOWS 10 related to the Windows Service called "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel".

I have 3 hours of "play time" which is really debugging the game and testing it in multiplayer to see if the game closes after running the fix below.
The "fix" of stopping the service and removing it from startup actually breaks the search in windows 10 which is very annoying and some users may restart etc.
The behavior when the service is terminated is typing after you hit the windows icon will not initiate a search, clicking the hour glass to search will not let you type in that box unless you copy and paste elsewhere into the box.

Nice try with support but turning off the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel" service will result in Windows 10 search NOT WORKING ...VERY ANNOYING.
To fix that you'd have to start Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel when you are not playing StreetFighterV.exe
and stop it when you are playing it.

Still can't open the game.

IITWLLII -ES- původně napsal:
It's probably your security software, especially Avast, AVG and Windows Defender have false positives, which prevent Street Fighter V from running (happens with some other games too).

Add exclusions to ALL your security software modules for both StreetFighter.exe and/or the installation path is often sufficient.

Else do a clean Windows boot, by disabling all your autorun 3rd party software and services.

Hi,
since the latest update (Dojo update), I get prompted with a screen explaning the dojo and I have no way to get past it :( (there's no button prompt like there is usually for those screen like ok, previous/next page etc) (tried big picture mode, which usually solves input issues for me, tried re dling the whole game)

to bypass/navigate through the introduction menus use the keyboard buttons
"B" to accept and "N" to decline

If these buttons are not responding click with your mouse buttons anywhere on the SFV screen, even if the cursor is not visible, this will regain focus, now try to press "B" or "N" again.

Thanks, that worked for me :)
lol I was denied refund, I've grown to hate the makers/sellers of SFV aka Steam people, and prefer Killer Instinct more now due to the game screwing up windows 10 search or auto closing itself... .but hey SFV itself decent game,...wish it had Sentinel and x-men characters though
As of this post, I am still unable to open the game, at all. Before this most recent update (Dojo, Sep. 25th), everything worked perfectly fine. After the update, the program now terminates immdiately upon attempting to launch it. Nothing is displayed, apart from the standard Steam related windows and prompts. The program (Street Fighter V) doesn't even show up in Task Manager, even for a bit. I've attempted every relevant recommendation provided in the official bug report thread as well as several other recommendations from other sources, and still the issue persists.

As I have no idea what kind of information the devs require to address the problem, since no such standard appears to have been provided anywhere, I'll do my best to be thorough and hope I provide something relevant.

My system meets or exceeds all requirements listed on the Store page:

OS: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Processor: Intel Core i7-4720HQ CPU @ 2.6Hz
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: GTX 960M
DirectX Version: 11

Attempted solutions thus far:

- Street Fighter V has been added to every exclusion/exception related feature available within my antivirus program (Comodo).

- Attempted booting the game with my antivirus completely shut off. Nothing.

- Both Street Fighter V and Steam have administrator privileges.

- GPU driver confirmed to be up to date with the latest recommended release.

- Power management settings for both the GPU and system overall are set to their highest output ["High Performance"].

- Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package installation confirmed via rerunning the vc_redist.x64.exe installer provided within the Street Fighter V game files.

- DirectX 11 installation confirmed via rerunning the DXSETUP.exe installer provided within the Street Fighter V game files and checking with dxdiag.exe.

- Street Fighter V game cache verified through Steam (several times).

- Attempted to apply Data Execution Prevention (DEP) exceptions to Street Fighter V, but the feature is evidently unavailable on 64-bit systems.

- Windows Media Player confirmed to be up to date with the appropriate Windows 8.1 Media Feature Pack.

- My system is not touch-screen enabled, nor was any such device connected during testing.

- Windows OS up to date with all "important" Microsoft updates.

***
EDIT:
[I'm just going to keep updating this with other fixes I've attempted that also didn't work, since the original post.]

- Disabling the IPv6 protocol to check for an IPv4/IPv6 network conflict, apparently known to occasionally cause crashes and stalled launches, also yielded nothing.

- Did a clean reinstall of Street Fighter V:
o Uninstalled game via Steam
o Deleted any files left over under the Steam file path
o Deleted any remaining Street Fighter V registries via regedit
o Removed the "Saved" folder under %LocalAppData% file path
o Verified cache (again) via Steam as soon as the installation concluded
o Still nothing.
***

Again, the game was fine before the update, and now, after the update, I'm completely unable to launch the game, even after doing all of this. I'm going to therefore go ahead and assert that this is well and far away out of my hands as I have done just about everything in my power to fix this apart from attempting to reprogram the game myself. I've provided as much relevant information as I can, and I hope this ends up being useful to someone.

Same here, and apparently for others. Guess it's impacting Directinput controllers. Three free ports on the front of my system, 1x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 and it crashes on all of them.

Deleting the device from the system and replugging it causes SFV to see it as a new controller to authenticate and configure, but the moment I hit a button it crashes.

Tried the guide here to no avail:
