Street fighter x tekken ps3 pad
Hi I was wondering how to get my street fighter x tekken ps3 pad working on my pc? it recognises it when plugged in but the hard kick r2 won't work or right bumper button only left bumper button as hard kick and the other 5 face buttons. Do I need to use a third party app to map the buttons? Also doesn't recognise it as a legacy controller thanks.

SFV no longer needs 3rd party D-input wrappers since Season 2 (Dec. 2016).

Try this:

Disable and remove all 3rd party D-input/X-input wrappers from SFV folders (x360ce / DS4windows etc.), also disable all Steam big picture mode controller options.

Last but not least reset SFV controller settings, by deleting the file "input.ini" in the SFV config folder.

Press the button combination: Windows Key + R
Paste the following line to access it quickly:
%LocalAppData%\StreetFighterV\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Set your controller to PS3 mode (if available), restart SFV and you will be asked to re-assign your D-input device buttons again.

Sometimes it's also worth checking the Windows hardware manager, just to make sure that your controller is not constantly refreshing / has DPC driver issues or a damaged cable.

Wow that's a lot to take in tbh I'm not that computer savey. I'm sure it did the same when I tried to use my venom stick on it too. Tbh I play it on my ps4 I just wanted to know if the pad should work and it's something wrong that I'm doing, as I've only been playing the beta but was going to get it for my daughter to play and wanted to know if I do Wether it will work with this pad, as I have others that are more expensive (commander pro, stick ect..) but don't want her to damage them and this pad I bought but don't like it. So should it work if I do purchase the full game on steam and should it be plug and play or is it legacy controller? I'll try what you mentioned when I get it if it is supposed to work just don't want to waste money if the pads no good for it cheers

Ps you'll have to assume I know very little of what you take for granted so you'll have to put it in dummy terms

No problem, I'll try to explain it in a different way: PS3 and PS4 controllers are direct input device (D-input), these are natively supported by Street Fighter V since Season 2.

But there are software constellations, which can cause intereferences. In other words, if you have other game controller software installed (like DS4windows / InputMapper) or have Steam big picture mode controller remapping options enabled, it can cause issues, so it's best to disable these before running SFV.

Resetting the SFV controller options doesn't hurt either, just to create a clean controller configuration => do achieve this, you need to delete the file input.ini
which is located in %LocalAppData%\StreetFighterV\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

There are some screenshots in the above guide (controller issues section), which show you the most important options.
