This reminds me of Safecracker another intersting game if your looking for a puzzling game.

Any of the 90's Zork games qualify. I have a fond memory of them, the UI is clunky by today's standards but gameplay mechanics are the same. It's more of a grown-up version of Myst.

Problem with suggesting Zork is, you're going to have to get it from GOG.

i liked all of Zork (including the text-based ones), Amerzone was pretty good, tons of Myst-impersonators in the 90s ...

came back to add a few more, like Grim Fandango. I only ever played Kings Quest VII, but the franchise is still popular so there's gotta be some good stuff in there too right?

anyone else ever play Obsidian? It stands out in my memory as one of the greats. Actually has an easter egg reference to Myst. Also had a great TV ad

Check out Rhem - here on Steam, Rhem IV is available. Graphics are a bit outdated, but the (sometimes very difficult) puzzles and the keen eye you need for your environment make the Rhem series unique and worth the effort. I ended up with walls plastered with notes, drawings, ideas... so much fun.

i cannot recommend talos principle . but there are 5 myst games + uru and uru live, which is in the process of being restarted, but not online at the moment. i think of all of that, exile is the most imaginative one, but riven is the absolute queen of well crafted puzzles. getting to the finale and solving the final puzzle , my jaw dropped it was that clever. i enjoyed the witness, but found the puzzles repetitive, and some i couldnt do due to my colourblindness. extremely clever ideas in it though.

Try Asa and Catyph. Very Myst-like with puzzles that keep you busy for a while. Beautiful games.

The Silent Age is a pretty cool short game, even if pretty different.

Try Syberia 1 & 2, unbelieveable story. 3 will come out in 2017.

i'd recommend all of the Darklingroom Studios games.
The Lost Crown
Darkfall
etc.

These are more horror oriented, but are of similar variety to how the Myst games work. The Lost Crown is 3rd person but still a point and click.

I like the list of "Myst-like" games posted here. Just wanted to add the RHEM series, 1 to 4.
Still waiting for RHEM5. It has been delayed for a while but I am a very patient person, especiallly concidering that the author, designer, and developer works by himself.
