Is the ESO Community toxic? Or is it just me?

Disclaimer: I'm well aware that people in general, whether it's online, or in real life ... can be horrible. This isn't me saying that ESO is in fact, toxic, but rather, wanting to know your experience first hand with them. It's more like a survey than anything.

Topic: Playing both Xbox One and PC version of ESO, too often (especially in Auridon for some reason), people are ... very toxic. Racial slurs, trash talking, and more as said among one another, and it's just people hanging around too. In dungeons / trials, if you aren't doing exactly what is needed, you'll get flamed- hard. More often than not, people belittle one another without ever thinking "Huh, am I taking this too far?"

Example: In Orsinium, two people wanted to group with me to take on Overland Bosses. While we did well, one of the people on the mic was non stop trash talking his friend and being an absolute ♥♥♥♥ to his partner. It got to the point I asked "Uh are you okay man? Are you kidding around or-" and suddenly, dude blew up on me, trash talked, belittled, wished death upon me, and demanded that his friend remove me from the group. Then proceed to spam text to me until I left the area due to wanting to move on from that 'scene'.

Question: How's your experience with the ESO Community? Is it as vile as I made it out to be, is it just a small group that occasionally pops up? Personally, I know there's a lot of good people on here, I am in several groups and we like helping newcomers, and veterans alike achieve the builds they want (aka getting good ♥♥♥♥ from hard content). What are your thoughts?

Everyone runs it for dungeons & trials, it helps a lot. When you farm endlessly for an item and see someone loots something you need, it allows you to whisper them asap if they're willing to give you the item. It doesn't do anything else other than notify you of the items people loot.

And again, he wasn't obligated to give us anything. What point are you trying to make? He got mad that we asked him to at least bother checking, he has a fit and just leaves without allowing us to say anything further, meaning he leaves the dungeon mid way for a very petty reason. I don't mind if he isn't willing to give, but don't ditch your entire team because you don't like someone asking you a favor.

By the way, I TOLD HIM that I am running the add on, so it doesn't make sense for me to report him if he knows about it, cause I told him. I reported him for leaving the group when we needed him to tank, and instead ditches us. Why is it so hard for you to understand this, i've stated it 3x now ... you're ignoring my points and assuming things, even looking past my evidence provided.

I'm wondering if you're serious or just trolling me at this point.

Me too Caramel Frappe. I see you'r lvl 22. I stopped taking dungeons of same reason.
I am a lvl 92 champion and i have hardly taken them. Every 3-4 times someone screemed kick someone with result of that. Last time i took 1 i was a dmg dealer and 1 who died several times screamed about standing in circle wich i didn,t. I did just as much dmg as he.
The result was that i was kicked at the end of the dungeon after 30 min waitingtime-
I got so pissed som i haven't taken 1 after that. 2-3 weeks ago. I was around lvl 30 that time.

Don't make it stop your playing mate. There is many other ways of playing the game
No need to be as expected but find the way you like to play it.

I appreciate you sympathizing, but may I ask where you got level 22 from? I'm currently CP 475 with my Stamplar in ESO (PC / NA). With that said, it doesn't change much- people still behave pretty badly.

As a matter of fact, when doing vet Vaults of Madness the night before, I was in a pug and both me and another person wanted particular items (I needed worm cult pants & lightning staff, he wanted any rattlecage especially battle axe). Since I have add ons, I was running auto loot tracker and noticed how after three bosses, only 3 people were looting. I saw the names and then asked our tank why he wasn't looting anything.

Tank: I don't need anything from here.
Me: That's fine but me and another person have asked for certain items. Did any bosses drop them or did you check?
Tank: No, I don't need anything so I skip. How do you know I don't loot.
Me: I run add ons for farming and have auto tracker, but the fact you didn't even bother checking hurts us and makes us farm more.
Tank: I don't need to give you anything, and if I did find anything, i'm not giving it to you now. Don't look up what I loot.

AND THEN HE LEAVES THE GROUP.

Everyone reported him for that. I don't know if it'll do anything but leaving for something so petty and not helping your team out is just, exactly what i'm talking about.

I saw a lot of life saviours in Eso seriously, some ppl are really kind but some of them are pure evil.

When i run dungeons, as a tank i'm asking to people if they know the strat, if they're answering with a simple "no" or "yes" then i patiently explain them even if i don't know some of the dungeons, i google it and copy paste the phases. But some of the ppl are dumb enough to not even answer and just rush to the boss directly.Seriously...

Don't run your dungeons alone, as a tank i saw too many dumb people, and they are toxic af, their cp is lower than mine but they're still complaining about everything.

AND SPECIALLY , F*ck the People who tries to do DLC DUNGEONS WHILE THEY ARE ONLY F*CKING 45 LEVEL or LOWER THAN 160 CP. And when i say kick me from the dungeon they are refusing to kick me and blaming me...

People needs those DLC dungeon items, and if you're lower than 160cp you're basically lowering their chances.Since this game's RNG system sh*tty af, please don't do DLC dungeons without hitting 160 CP.

I'm gonna kill myself now thx.

not being a troll, but why would you PUG Vet dlc runs? Thats insane or I am in a very very good guild, It is with extreme rarity that any of us PUG even a RND, and always run pledges, and Vet dungeons for gear with guildmates, saves the hassle of random players screwing over anyone, and allows gear to be placed where needed in addition to the comraderies of doing things with friends.

So you mean an add on that thousands of people downloaded, which was approved by ZOS and hasn't violated any terms, is somehow something that makes me toxic because ... I know what people loot? That somehow makes me toxic?

You realize people use it so they can ask someone asap for the item since multiple people in a trial might be looking for the same thing right? It's to give you an edge, but it doesn't mean you will get the item. That's why you just ask, and if the person doesn't want to give it to you- that's fine. What I do have a problem with, is if the person isn't even willing to check if the item even exists by looting a boss's corpse when two or more people are asking for things, and immediately leaves when questioned about it.

Like 1-2 lines of asking about it is NOT pestering, it's literally telling them 'if you can do us a favor because we'll most likely have to do more farming if you don't want to help' and bam. I don't hardly know many who get mad at knowing people can see their loot lol, it's just an add on that helps. Here i'll even link the add on because it's great for anyone farming :)

I know how you feel, I often pray people are at least 300 CP for vet DLC's because these are no joke, they're the end game of ESO so you have to be at your 'best' to survive it. Not to mention why would you even do a vet DLC when you're below 160 CP anyways, maxed out gear drops at 160 so anything below will be useless to acquire anyways ...

I think they do random dungeon for the daily and end up getting a vet DLC is what I think. ZOS should just increase the CP required to make everyone happy. Make it where you have to be 160 CP or even 230 CP to do vet DLC's, just my take.

I'm in 4 guilds and at times, no one's online and I have work to attend to in the next few hours so I sadly don't have time to wait. I like doing the pledges while they're hot (mean on the day the pledge came out) because doing them the next day means less likely i'll get people wanting to do it in my guild(s). With that said, pugs tend to be pretty ... oof. I will say the best pug I had ever gotten was with people whom so happened to love vMarch of Sacrifices like I did and knew how to do HM, so I finally had a team that wanted to do HM and obtained my Hircine's Champion title which was lit. Not even my guild mates wanted to do HM before this pug lmao.

Bro .. I can't take this seriously either. We never kicked the tank, he left on his own and we, the 3, reported him for abandoning the dungeon. Also no one else has ever gotten mad at me, (or anyone) running the add on. It just lets you look at the loot people get lol.

Also your example is weak, animals kill each other all the time for food. While it is true we shouldn't kill more than we need, humans have to eat too. I have no idea why you brought up such an example, it sounds like you're having too much fun preaching while messing around, and no one's going to take that seriously.

Alright so how come every other person i've mentioned it to, they've taken it well or wanted to install the add on for themselves, but this tank, because he didn't like me telling him (I didn't have to btw) about the add on, he leaves therefore i'm "toxic"? I only say 2 things, not even begging or demanding, about him helping us and he decides to bail.

All he had to do was just say "No I won't help" and I would just move on with my day. The fact you and the other guy (who are likely doing this for kicks) have a problem with a popular add on makes me wonder- why care? At all? Just don't offer the items, I can't take it from you.

I also said i'd ignore you, but you're hanging around the thread and constantly repeating yourself like a parrot so I kind of have to say something or else people will look at your posts only without seeing mine (or the context / pointers i've previously made) since this thread continues to expand.
