What I've Learned about Craftomg Master Writs...
First of all, just reaching Level 50 won't give us an ability to get master writs. We have to maximize out the skill set for that crafting ability, for example we must be able to work in Rubido Metal to be able to get a master Crafting Writ.

We get master crafting writs when we turn in regularly crafted items. We don't get them often, just once in a while. Since I have three different characters of different races and alliances who can craft them, I've noticed that the more master level skills that a character has, the move likely a crafting writ will be sent to them. It still is not that common. From three weeks or more, to two weeks, on the average.

We can craft different craft writs at the same time, but only one in each craft. If we have an opened writ in Woodcraft, we can open one in Alchemy, but not another woodcraft one until we finish or cancel the one that we have opened.

Crafting writs for consumables, such as Alchemy, Enchanting and Provisioning can be finished wherever we are, assuming that we have the materials needed. Enchanting takes one Glyph to complete. Alchemy takes several vials to complete, one after the other. Provisioning, I don't know yet. Anyone else??

Crafting Master Writ Equipment is a whole different kettle of fish. Equipment Crafting Writs are for individual pieces of equipment of sets. We don't need the whole set, just the one piece of gear. To do this, we need to have the right motifs and styles, the location of the specific crafting area, and the right amount of item traits for that crafting area's set.

It's confusing at first, but let me give a couple of examples to help. I needed craft an Epic restoration staff, infused, in the Kajiti style/motif for the Willow's Path set. There are charts availble that show where Willos's Path sets can be crafter, and the number of traits that each item needs in order to craft it for a set. Willow's path reuires each item of a set to have 6 Traits total to craft an item in the set. For the crafting Writ, I had to have six total traits, including infused. I had to research one additional style, in order to be able to craft tthe staff in the set. It crafted as a normal staff, then I had to improve it up to level. Always researching items helps a lot, and making sure that you can research two or different three items at a time is important. Spending skill points for this also cuts down on the time needed to craft each item!

My next example was much harder, but the rewards were a lot greater. I needed to craft an Abah's Watch Rubido Leather Chest piece, with a learning trait at the Earthforge. Now, to even get to the Earthforge, I had to complete the Warrior's quest series. After completing it, I am able to access it anytime, from one specific location! This varies according to the Allianxce of the character, but is listed in a discussion here. The Earthforge requires 8 of the 9 traits in order to craft an item in the set, so gathering the traits can take a while. 7 of any combination of traits, but researching the 8th can take a long time! I used crown coiins to purchase two 7 day reduction scrolls for Clothing crafing, ant they reduced the time of all clothing crafting.

The trick part was to find an Akaviri Chest piece. I searched the Motifs of several merchants over a few days to find them. I tried looking just for Motif number 32, which is Abah's Watch, then at the type crafting.

For clothes, a Chest Motif will allow crafting of light, medium and heavy armor. For weapons , most that have one handed and two handed will allow crafting both, such as a mace and a Maul. Daggers are separate, but I think that's all.

Woodend stafs are researched individually for each type of staff, as are bows and shields.

Please ask qwuestions, and add what's needed. Thank you,

Alchemy is 20 vials. Put the skill points into making multiples of 4 (essence) or 16 (poison). Provisioning is 8 portions. Put the skill points into making 4 portions of food and drink.

Join a big guild that has all the crafting stations. Saves running around.

It has been suggested that the more completed style motifs you have learned, the greater the drop rate for master writs. I think this is true but offer no proof.

I haven't even got any yet, and standard writs aren't worth wiping my ass on.

Diagones, You'll just have to decide if getting and completing Master Crafting Writs are worth your time. Generally, we need many rewards to trade for each item available. There should be a list somewhere of what they are, and how much they cost. Think in terms of months for them, rather than says or weeks.-

Provisioning requires 1 drink and 1 food. Crafting Writs are a joke. Just before Summerset released i knew every motif in game and still only getting low voncher Writs

I forgot to talk about Mimic Stones! Mimic stones are used to replace a material for motif crafting that we do not have. Remember to un-check the box for the Mimic stone arfterwards, though. It stays checked, and can be wasted by crafting a normal item if it's left checked.

Writs are a huge source of my purple and gold crafting materials via surveys and a nice chunk of change and xp when you do them across several characters.

I use Dolgubon's lazy writ crafter add-on for my writs, I does them for me except cooking and alchemy, including the master writs. For Alchemy I use the add-on "potionmaker". it makes me a lot of money by getting all my writs done fast.

I have 6 toons, 3 doing 7 writs, 3 just doing 4(consumables and JC). I spend my first hour playing most days running all my toons through the writs and restocking the guild vendor. I get at least a alchemy or enchanting writ pretty much daily, and an equipment one 3-5 times a week. With 6 toons doing JC, I have enough materials to even sell some, at VERY high prices!

you can get writs even at low skill levels, it is just very rare. My crafter, the one I give all the motifs, gets the most equipment ones by far. Having a large amount of recipes or motifs raises your chances, that is why even low level purple recipes sell for so much. But even the one's that don't have it mastered or have a lot of recipes/motifs still get the occasional master writ.

GET DOLGUBON'S LAZY WRIT CRAFTER!! if you do writs, you will thank me.

You can buy/sell writs too you know. The Add-on "writworthy" tells you a good price to buy/sell them at.

I have one PC (player character) that has more Master crafting abilities than my other two have. That one does seem to get more Crafting Writs than the other two. They all have about the same motif skills. When I find a motif with a big discount (a blue price), I buy them and just hold onto them, for when they are needed. When I wind up with enough to give the motifs to all my characters, or enough for the characters who don't have that one, then I use them all. I do have a bunch in the bank, though.

Motifs (styles) are for your account. All toons know them (but not cross server). Recipes, traits, etc. toon only.

I don't think so. 2 days ago, or maybe 3, one of my characters looted a blue racial motif and was able to read and learn it, and I have a character on that account that already knew all those blue racial motifs. Or does what you say only apply to some motifs?

Just wait until you get a jewel crafting master writ...

Yes, you are right. For crafting it is only for the toon that learns it, but the styles are account wide for the outfit station.

Motifs are account wide for OUTFIT, but not for crafting master writs. Each toon must know the motif to make a master writ.

Sometimes I will get a master writ for a crafting station that I can't get to, or is related to a DLC (aka chapter) that I have no intrest in. I keep it active ant try to have all the necessary traits for it, but then if I get a nother crafting writ for the same skill, I delete the active one that wasn't doing me any good, and open the next one.
