ACC looks great on this setup too (130% in game pixel density, almost everything on ultra too, no fog, grass), 60ish fps.
So yeah I'd say VR is hyper busted. I wouldn't even attempt this again until they've patched it a specifically said "we unbroke VR"
i7 11700K + 3080Ti
It looks way better than ACC, like sharper, especially distance view.
Performance just isnt where it should be.
If they get that sorted out it might be a brilliant experience in the future.
Like i run a i5 13600K, 32Gb of ddr5 cl30/6000mhz Ram and a RTX 3080 Ti with a Meta Quest3 USB wired. The performance right now is at a spot, i cannot use VR, even at 1.3 Res its not okay.
Personally im not confident if they get it fixed, like in Simracing its always the graphics are hyperbad or the performance optimization is Simracing standart low.
And those capable of dealing with both problems are literally locking the experiences away, like Polyphony Digital or Turn10 Studios.
Like i did not yet get to experience a proper VR Racing Experience at all.
Ps5 and PSVR2 is a blurry mess, Ea Sports WRC runs on Unreal Trash 4 and looks awful, ACC has zero view at distance and is unsharp aswell, Forza Motorsport has none and the other Simracing Products literally have their very own issues… it sucks to say the least.
Dirt Rally2.0 is literally the only functioning VR Game for Racing.
Personally im just no longer willing to purchase a single piece of hardware anymore in order to improve the Sim Experience. Like you can waste tons of money at it and at the end of the day its the developers anyways failing too hard and you never get a proper experience.
Hopefully it can improve while its still on sale.
You didn´t try iracing, LeMans Ultimate or AMS2, right? These titles have by far the best VR performance in simracing. AMS2 best, but not the best simulation. LMU is currently the best sim you can buy and has a great vr performance..
Как не посмотришь , все довольны, при этом у них видеокарты 4090 поголовно. Очнитесь?! Продажные будут продолжать рекламировать и давать советы.
You really have to wait.
Everything is wrong with it in VR on a modest system. Artifacts, performance, blurry visuals.
I did about 30-60 minutes of laps and it was giving me a headache from what I was seeing and the performance was so bad that it made other aspects of the simulation fail (I'd done an hour on a flat screen and the physics and handling were fine but once frame rates dived the whole game seemed to suffer)
But it's impossible to say what the future is.
I think it reasonable to assume that they will make their game run well on flat screens on hardware that's mentioned in the recommended specs - and, even if it didn't most of us have better than a 2070 anyway, right?
I think it's a pity they don't have a min / rec specs for VR on these titles.
I remember during AC development I had a dual core - at after one update it broke dual core and the only solution was to upgrade - and it kinda sucked because the earlier version had mediocre performance but it worked, and now I had to buy a new PC - but really I needed to buy the new PC anyway - and when I did the game was so much better.
Well, I'd happy accept that I need a new GPU for this - but it's not going to be a 5090. So right now you can't really get a better GPU and fix the performance issues.
And if you absolutely have to play in VR, aren't interested in playing in any mode other than VR - which I concur with, then : wait and see. Unless you think that paying £26 now instead of £33 in a few weeks or months is a life changing sum of money for you - you're not going to gain much buying a game now that you don't want to play.
Because that's what is on offer now : a 20% discount with the risk that you'll never be able to play the game well on your computer.
If we end up needing to buy a 5070ti or whatever graphics card in the future is needed, well (a) we might not want to do that and (b) That'll cost so much that the £7 you spend more buying EVO won't really make any difference.
This sim racing thing costs so much in hardware that the price of the software is a rounding error.
But I'd like to play this and I did buy it and try it, but it was completely unplayable in VR on my system and I refunded because of ACC.
TBH I saw Nils playing it yesterday on his stream and I nearly bought it again. It really does look great on a flat screen and the cars handling and everything are really good. Nils does a good job of talking about the ffb, handling and physics like a grown up rather than the silly emotion you get from others.
But unless you have absolutely the beefiest system there is it sucks in VR at the moment.
Let's hope they get this playable in VR on reasonable hardware.
I'll keep jumping on here occasionally in hope there is some guidance on how to handle the vram or a fix by the Devs eventually
