If the line was consumed as part of bundle creation and breakdown I would have less issue with that than with a crafted wire that uses up scrap metal albeit a common but still limited resource.
An expansion on the stick bundle would be creation of temporary sacks using deer hide and line for several kilos of goods. If the line is consumed whenever the sack is dismantled (to be able to access the contents), but the deer hide is recovered, that might be an acceptable trade off in use.
we have tons of plastic bottles from nowhere or bags of meat when you quater. There's no need for crafting here (which would be more work for the devs).
When you drop your wood it should already be conviniently bundle by (10? 20? no matter)
rose hips, all wood types, rocks, ...
More or less what happens with meat and water. Useful for a lot of things. Meat, stones, coal, cloth etc. +1 to that too.
