Game Starting on the wrong monitor
I have 3 monitors connected to my system, but since the update, it has started the game on the middle monitor as opposed to my left one as it should.

Changing the screen option in the in-game settings doesn't fix it.

Did you restart the game after changing it in Options? If that doesn't work change the Display to Windowed and drag it to the right monitor.

Many of the settings o for the game reverted back to defaults with the update. Go through your options menu to check if any settings have changed back to default. You'll probably have to set up dual monitor display again, and check if controls are set to Gamepad, or kb/m, etc.

Got it to work. It's now launching on the correct monitor.

Thank you.

Hey, im actually having the opposite problem. My game is starting on my left monitor when I want it on my center monitor. I have tried the windowed mode and drag, but it wont let me access the top bar to move the windowed screen anywhere.

Options>Controls>Lock Mouse to Screen, set it to unlocked

Same problem.

It doesnt even register the correct numbers for my monitors, it calls them 0 and 1, they are 1 and 2.

Changing the setting in game doesnt do anything, I can set it to 0 or 1, it always loads on my rightmost monitor, resetting the game afterwards similarly does nothing, nor resetting steam, nor resetting computer, Ive done all of those 5-6 times.

Game is completely unplayable in this state, the monitor that it insists I use, regardless of any settings I change, is not intended for or positioned for gaming.

No other game has this issue,

There have been a number of threads on this, and this one seems to have found a workaround: https://steamcommunity.com/app/305620/discussions/4/3717188878644313995/

A post about changes to the 4 major seasonal sales?

Edit: So for whatever reason that link took me to the wrong place the first time.

I edited- I had copied the link to that thread, and Steam did a Steam thing and didn't copy it to my clipboard. The edited post above yours has the correct link.

For reasons that I cannot fathom when I tried to quote your post it changed the link?

Edit: Oh. Good old steam.

Steam servers have been glitchy this morning- which is pretty much the same as any other day on Steam, lol.

The only way Ive found to fix this thing (and its stupid and tells me the options are broken and meaningless) is to go into windowed mode, drag it over manually, then go back to full screen, now it loads on the correct monitor, which is -not- the one the game claims it is running on in the options.

I wonder how many other supposed options are just disconnected boxes we can click to feel like we have any influence over how its running?

What's WORSE, is that in the menu + survival my right monitor is "device 0",
But in the story, the left one is "device 0".

My OCD is wishing the devloper a lot of bad karma, because
there's no way this wasn't intentional.
The ONLY saving grace is that I picked it up for a dime,
but even at that price I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the irritation.
Still did not change.
It always ignores the choice in the options after restart.
This game seems to be no longer maintained. Shame on Hinterland.

Maybe one should keep this Studio in mind to prevent buying anything from them untill they do their work properly.

However: Anyone who changes to windowed and drags the window to the desired monitor, use windows+shift+ left or right key to immediately swap monitor. That spares you the changing to windowed. Btw works on any window / fullscreen in Windows 11 at least.
