Old Hunting Lodge (ep. 2)
I've been playing this game since early access and I'm apparently simply unable to find the place called "Old Hunting Lodge" to further the story in ep 2. I fixed the trappers rifle and returned to his cabin, thinking this might be the aforementioned lodge, but it isn't. Where in Mystery Lake can I find the damn "Old Hunting Lodge" to find out more about the forest people?

Ooooo boy..... oooo boy.... The old hunting lodge is back at the Maintenance Yard where you fixed the rifle. It's located higher up on the same map as the Maintenance Yard. Goodluck running all the way back there! .___.

Uuuuuugh, okay, thanks so much, though. The letter confused me as it mentioned "Mystery Lake" specifically. Yay for running back - without any supplies! ;)

You're welcome. Don't worry. You'll be receiving a rifle for your own personal use once you get to the hunting lodge!

Place got me too. Didn't see a marker on the map, and the note made me go back to ML as well. Then I had to trudge all the way back.

Glad I'm not the only one. :D

The note specifically says Mystery Lake. Why does the note specifically say Mystery Lake when we're supposed to go to a place that's not Mystery Lake?!? :steamfacepalm:

Time to go from Mystery Lake all the way back to the place where I got the note that said I had to go to Mystery Lake. :steamsad:

The Hunting Lodge was not on my map when I was looking through them after the night in the maintenance yard - creepy stuff late at night for me.

I read this thread and since I was just past the avalanche on the same map as the maintenance yard, I quit then resumed. Guess what, the Hunting Lodge with the exclamation on it was just to the north of the maintenance yard and on the map now.

This is a bug they need to fix.

Yeah, it was not on my map either unfortunately. :steamfacepalm:

I had to move the map because the whole thing wasn't on my screen. I'm only at 1920x1080, so at higher resolutions more might fit. I made it back to the trapper's cabin and when he didn't talk to me, I knew something was wrong, so I hoofed it back and now I'm at the lodge. It's way the hell past the maintenence yard. I can respect the idea behind it, but the notes are misleading. On one hand, I think they really screwed up the implementation, so I'm all for people complaining at them. On the other hand, it didn't take much real world or game world time to back track, so all's good for me.

I saw the lodge on my map. Mystery Lake caches also show up all over FM and BR. Anyone else think the map scrolls too slowly and/or could use adaptive scroll and/or a zoom mechanism?

I just followed the lights to the cabin, when those glowing wolves surround you at the maintenance yard Will mentions that they're afraid of the light. If you follow the trail of lights it takes you around the back of the maintenance yard, down to the lake then that on the right, up a small hill to a fence, apparently there's a key but I just took the bolt cutters (which are on that bench where the hand driven drilling machine is) and cut through the fence. After that continue forward up the hill then a right on a incline once u reach the top of the hill you should see more streetlights to follow (there is a small path going off to the left but just follow the street lights to get to the lodge). Watch out for more wolves when you're following this set of lights, you'll eventually reach a sign that says Mystery Lake Lodge then just follow the rest of the streetlights to the lodge

Bit of an old post, but happened to me too.

They should really clarify this.

Walked all the way back because from the quest description it sounded like 'oh I got the gun, I should go ask the guy about these forest people.', but nope, it wanted me to go search a hidden area that they figured people in their right minds, would leave the safe room with a fire and bed at night with those new alien wolves standing right outside to follow a trail of weird lights into the wilderness against the advice of the trapper who said to stay to the track till you have a rifle.

Fortunately I had an auto save, so half way through my walk back again- I just reloaded since I was having a rather misable adventure with low food, water, and damaged gear from the trip to begin with.
